Drifted all over the place, saw lots of the ball and made a lot happen. Gutting knowing that we absolutely wasted him when he was at Cardiff on loan last season. Good for Wales though, and that was the sort of form he showed off the bench against the Czechs. Colwill looked fairly sharp, Moore had one of his better games this season, Bowen struggled to really have an influence. Kieron Evans was a bright spark off the bench though, looked dangerous playing on the left.

Colwill really grew into the game yesterday, probably his best performance when starting a game. Same again on Saturday please.

It really is a strange quirk of Mick's that Bowen, a deep lying midfielder, is playing as a number 10 but I suppose we should be thankful he's not starting at centre back Moore was good in the first half but I think he tailed off badly in the second. Colwill was our main threat I thought and shouldn't have come off

Here's what Wales Online had to say
Rubin Colwill 7 (star man)
What a difference it makes seeing this young man on the pitch. So graceful with the ball and his 'attack-first' instinct is as refreshing as it is exciting. Looked Cardiff's biggest threat and smashed one shot narrowly past the post in the first half.

Starts today for what should be the beginning of the end for MM. 3 Welsh youngsters on the bench, or possibly 2 as I have zero knowledge of who Elliot King is

I know we're shit but there's some positives

I saw the game. Colwill clearly has some ability and had a couple of nice runs, but there's a lot lacking in his game. There were a couple of times where he got the ball in the box and wasn't brave enough to take a shot on, preferring to move it to someone else and messed it up - much to the annoyance of the crowd. His crosses were really poor too- two went straight out of play. He's young, but has loads to work on before he can be an important player at championship level even. I'm just not sure that he has the confidence, composure, and killer instinct in him to add that end product on a consistent basis.

I'd say this is a pretty harsh assessment considering he's only played a handful of senior league games and is just 19. The things you mentioned take time, its fairly uncommon for a young player to be the complete package when they burst onto the scene especially when it comes to things like goalscoring, composure, consistency etc. There are a number of good Premier League players who were criticised for lacking end product when they were younger, Crystal Palace alone have number of those like Zaha, Eze and Olise who all lacked end product initially but have become/are becoming good Premier League players

I'd say there's a good chance that his confidence has taken a bit of a battering of late, it's not exactly a team a player like Rubin can shine in at the moment.

Certainly didn't look short of confidence in the first 15 minutes after half-time v 'Boro (admittedly the only portion of that game that I managed to catch).

Good stuff, starting to show that he can provide a goalscoring threat! I sometimes forget he only first came onto the scene earlier this year, so his development over the past 12 months has been fantastic. If he continues at this rate over the next 12 months, he could be a really exciting player. It's probably good that he's had that taste of international football and then gone more into the background, which will hopefully give him that added incentive to kick on

A Colwill family double today as younger brother Joel also scored in Cardiff U18s victory over Swansea which saw them top their PDL Cup group with 3 wins from 3

Not sure why Page took him to the Euro's, yet has only used him sparsely since. I like what I've mostly seen from Harris, but he seems favoured over Colwill which seems a bit odd.

I think the reasons are fairly obvious personally. He took Colwill as an 18yo with bags of talent as the 26th man to give him the experience, knowing that the 26th player would never get any gametime anyway so it was more about longterm thinking. He's used Harris more than him since because they're very different players - we have lots of players in Colwill's role, and far fewer in Harris'.

Yet we've played more players like Colwill in Harris' 'role'............ Yes, but we currently have better alternatives to Colwill. From what I've seen, I would say Colwill is a no.10 who might be able to do a job as a wide forward and potentially slightly deeper as a no.8. Harris, for me, is an out and out second striker who likes to play on the shoulder and run the channels. When we've gone for a false 9 (essentially using an attacking midfielder there), we have players like Wilson and Ramsey who are obviously preferred to Colwill. But if we want to play with a more traditional striker, we only have Moore, and the next best thing is Harris.

Took the goal really well, been bright since he came on - doesn't look short of confidence. Playing as the most attacking of a midfield 3 - I think that's his best position rather than in the forward line
