And this is why their agents encouraged them to play. Ha! Spot on. The agents were probably like: "Everyone will forget you're Welsh for a while, they'll associate you with England, and then your profile, price and wages will skyrocket - you have to do this!!"

That Swiss game for me was the stand out performance because they turned up in cardiff -------------- Swansea actually. And Taylor was directly up against Shaqiri, one of the most (over?)hyped young players in Euorpe, someone who has just made a multi-million pound move to Bayern Munich... Agreed! Taylor was that good, that Shaqiri only lasted over an hour and then was replaced!

Shaqiri got a hat-trick in his previous international vs Bulgaria, the Swiss fans thought he was going to tear us apart... I can't remember the fucker touching the ball in Swansea!

It should be recalled that we benefitted from a red card to Switzerland in the Swiss match. I think it was 0-0 at the time so it could have gone either way.

But we had much the better of the game up until this point. Gunter was almost cut in half for the red card mid way in their half such is the freedom he was getting to go forward Incidentally, probably Gunter's best game for us other than Frankfurt

Agree about Gunter, the Swiss were shit scared of him which is why they had a red card and is why we won a penalty. of course it could have gone either way but only one team deserved the win that night and it wasn't the team with the massive cowbell in the stand.

Stretchered off today with a suspected fractured ankle. Assuming he is injured, Ricketts for left back? Or Darcy?

Back 4 of Williams, Ricketts, Gunter & Collins for me.
Its unfortunate it's a fractured ankle. Diaby of Arsenal's career has been destroyed from one. Lets hope he doesn't have the same complications, and lets hope it doesn't massively reduce his quality like Ramsey's injury.

Think you are right on the back 4. HRK and King in the midfield? Or Jonsiesta?

Just seen it on sky, very unfortunate for Neil, can't blame the other player at all, NT went in strong, and to be honest if he wasn't injured would probably have rec'd yellow.
Big loss for Swans and Wales, reported as a broken ankle and the commentator on Radio Cymru said he would probably be out for the season

Call up Eardley, Richards or Ben Davies for cover and Ricketts to replace Taylor.
Line up now Myhill Gunter Collins Williams Blake Ricketts King/Williams Allen Rambo Bale Morrison
Subs: Brown, Matthews, Lynch, Eardley, HRK, Vokes

I hate managers reluctance to throw kids into games. CALL UP BEN DAVIES COOKIE N THROW HIM IN!!! Seeing as we have no chance like we did under Tosh we may aswell blood the youngsters.

Same formation, play Ricketts. Anything else is utter madness.

Who plays left wing instead of Bellamy?

Seems negative but Belgium look like a very confident attacking team and our defence against Bosnia was non exsistant. Numbers at the back may help or I may be so fed up with Wales' luck I don't know what to suggest.

Why not call up Rhoys Wiggins he is a regular at Charlton?

I'm not too concerned as injuries go. From the perspective of the campaign as a whole it's a bigger blow than it is for this one game.

Good news. I've no worries when it comes to Neil Taylors mentality. Cracking attitude. He's a future Wales captain and then manager perhaps. If not, he'll probably make an excellent pundit.

I think we should try out Ben Davies left back, and Neil Taylor left mid, or Taylor RB and Adam Matthews right mid.

He tore the entire Italian right side apart in the win against their u21s at Swansea and played quite advanced. The decline of 442 means wide players don't have to be out and out wingers (Bale is probably an exception here on the grounds of supreme ability). Adventurous full backs can quite easily be deployed further upfield. In fact what is important is not so much where they play but the teamwork b/w the full back and the 'winger'. Davies and Taylor together has the potential to work - schooled and coached in the same way, know each other's game, play together regularly (perhaps). They would be defensively sound away from home too

imnot sure both of them can play on the left at swansea though,im no swansea expert so feel free to correct me,dont they play with att-mid rather than a traditional winger? pablo hernandez, dyer, routledge supporting the lone striker..i dont think taylor is quite that type of player
its good that we have that kind of talent in our ranks though

I've been an advocate of having Taylor on the wing even before the emergence of Davies. We've got a lot of full backs and need long term replacement for Bellamy who's probably never going to play for Wales again.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21140247Looks like a return ahead of schedule. The coach also makes note of the 'huge challenge' ahead of him to displace Davies. Who would be more likely to make a positional switch? Can Taylor play at RB - would he be an improvement on Rangel?
