He's only played over 20 league games in a season twice in his career, 22 with Fulham in 15/16 and 26 with Cardiff in 16/17 I think people should just accept he's a gash footballer, and barring a handful of decent appearances for Wales, he's nowhere near international standard. Couldn't dislodge an ageing Angel Rangel at youth-trusting Swansea, and hasn't been able to hold down a club anywhere else. I think this post wins the clueless post of the week award. Either you've just started following Wales, or you've haven't a clue. Jazz Richards has been great in every significant game he's played for Wales, either off the bench or starting. Most notably out in Cyprus, where his beautifully flighted cross produced the winner. Youth-trusting Swansea? You clearly know less about Swansea than you do about Wales. Swansea spurned their youngsters until they got relegated. The few that did make it to the first team did so largely on the back of lengthy injuries - most obviously Ben Davies coming in when Neil Taylor broke his leg just after the transfer window closed. I don't expect Jazz Richards to play much for Wales again, but if his performances when he has represented his country are anything to go by, then he'll serve his country well when he is called upon again. To say he's a "gash footballer" is just rubbish, plain and simple.

Alright folks, keep backing him. Weird how every manager he's had doesn't though 🤔

Forgotten man Richards on the bench for Cardiff today.

Busy schedule coming up for Cardiff, Richards/Coxe could get some gametime
I imagine one of them will definitely play in the FA Cup

I think Jazz is a really good player always impressed me and its a pity he has been out injured.
I'm sure I read somewhere that he can also play defensive midfield.
Is this true?

He started off as a centre mid as a youth player at the Swans, but got his break at right back and not sure he ever played in midfield for us unless there was an injury crisis.

Lets hope young Jazz was inspired today by watching Neil Taylor in the dressing room ;-) Both him and William starting today.
HALF TIME EDIT
The City defence cut apart by three thoro balls. Jazz could have done better for the second and should have done better for the third. An unusually poor game from him so far.

Good 45 mins for Jazz so far. Provided more useful passes than all of Cardiff’s midfield combined.

Oops, according to bbc had a bit of a shocker, giving away a needless penalty for their equalizer. Doh!

Put himself behind Neco Williams, Adam Matthews, Sam Ricketts and Arthur Picton with that display...

Shocker of a challenge and lost his head after that. Was doing well until then.

As Arsene used to say ... I didn't see it ...
But whenever Jazz played with a dragon on his shirt he played superbly.

Obviously a lot of good players will miss out on the euros, hopefully they carry on playing regularly and put themselves in contention for the World Cup Qualifiers.
If Jazz misses out this time, there's no reason why he can't push Roberts/Gunter next time. Same goes for players like Adam Matthews and Morgan Fox.

I agree with your disagreement. He's better technically than Gunter, good feet, good on the turn, decent passing. Gunts seems to want it more, maybe more dedicated in training etc! Connor Roberts has better ability and also seems to give it his all, which is great to see.

Jazz has been very injury prone and also a utility player for a long time
Stepped in and was excellent in the 2016 campaign vs Belgium home and Cyprus away

I agree with your disagreement. Spoken like two people who haven't watched Jazz this season. He's turning into a defensive liability. He's been responsible for several of the goals conceded since he's come into the team. No way should he be taken ahead of Gunter. Jazz may be better on the ball and better going forward, but he gifts the opposition at least one good chance a game.

It's not unusual though for players who've been out in the cold for a long time to get fully up to speed. Agreed though that marginal squad players such as Jazz Richards need to be on top of their game to justify selection. Hopefully he will demonstrate his capabilities (at Swansea he was solid defensively but slated by the fans for being tentative going forwards) between now and the end of the season.

Do fans not remember another Cardiff City defender a certain Darcy Blake who performed brilliantly for Wales on occasions & not so well for his club side.
