Unfortunately I think the Klopp trying to convince him to stay stuff is nonsense. 25/30m and he's gone and I'll be glad to see him leave to be honest. He will NOT play when the season starts but great goal i watched the match. How was his overall performance? Was he playing in the otherwise best 11 or in the second 11?
I was watching young Robbie Burton play yesterday for a very poor Arsenal - but I would have preferred if they played him in the second half, with better players...

He will NOT play when the season starts but great goal i watched the match. I'm not holding my breath that he'd become a regular first starter for Liverpool, and I'd prefer he went to a team where he's likely to get regular game time. However, it is noteworthy that Liverpool appear to have changed their stance on the loan transfer issue and as reported by the Liverpool Echo, £25 million is rather a hefty price tag considering his lack of first team premier league experience. If no one comes forward and they're still ruling out loan options, it'd be a crying shame to see him waste his development on the bench but reports suggest he could be introduced very gradually. But either way, lining up with the likes of Salah, Firmino and Shaqiri is a massive step up from Derby. He's certainly shown that he at least, has the potential to play at the highest level.

...answering my own question ...
" ... he was joined by Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, giving everyone – including Klopp – a better idea of how Wilson could dovetail in a stronger attack.
Don't forget, the Wales international only started training alongside the pair when they linked up with the squad for the week-long training camp in Evian on Monday. Any previous such experience was some 12 months ago.
Klopp admitted afterwards the formation had been tweaked slightly to ensure Wilson, in an unaccustomed position on the left wing, was brought into the game as often as possible.
By and large it worked, although it was notably when drifting into central positions that the 22-year-old had his best moments, striking the post, drawing a save and, of course, netting his trademark goal.
Given the glut of central options, that could yet work against him. Out wide is where Liverpool need options."

I'll keep saying it, this lad needs to become a striker. His eye for goal is too good, and he works better down the middle.

Quick question for you Wales fans, who do you think is the better player out of Brooks and Wilson? Seeing as we could well end up with both it'll be interesting to see who has the better season.
Personally I think Wilson has a lot of excellent qualities, but Brooks seems to be the more naturally talented of the two, and is coming off of an excellent debut Premier League season. Wilson is so far unproven in the top flight, and going off of comments on here has a tendency to drift out of games a bit?

They made so many changes hard to say when the best XI was actually on the pitch and for how long. I woudn't say he stood out but did not look out of place at all in this company. Having said that you can deduce nothing from friendlies really.

Wilson is so far unproven in the top flight, and going off of comments on here has a tendency to drift out of games a bit? I think Brooks is the better "all-rounder" - full of flair, pace and creativity. For this reason, I really feel that he and Ethan compliment each other in midfield for us, as they both share this creativity, while one plays in attacking mid and the other in defensive midfield. I don't feel that Harry has the same pace or creativity but his strength is more so, in the forward position. He can sometimes seem quiet all throughout the game but can create opportunities when they come his way, that's for sure. I do think that he will improve with greater experience at the highest level. The fact that he has shown himself to be confident in his debut appearance with Salah and Firmino speaks volumes, but I think he'd be better off fine-tuning his development at a mid-level premier league club.

If we can get a loan with an option to buy at the end I'd be really happy with that; only problem is Liverpool look like they want some guarantees for playing time. As much as I like Wilson, we have very good offensive players and he's going to have to earn his way into the team.
I'm wondering if we're getting him in to play as a second striker perhaps? We just sent out our 4th choice striker on loan, so we only have 3 senior strikers now. I'm not convinced he has the pace or skill to be a top level winger, but he has all the traits to be a top central player IMO.

Envious of this loan signing.
All Palace can sign is a free transfer washed up 33 year old central defender and pay him a mouth watering £75,000 a week.
Bloody fuming.

Great move for Wales. Another player getting game time at the top level, and a chance to build a relationship with Brooksy.

Eddie Howe is Thanos, and all the young Welsh talents are his infinity stones- change my mind. He must then seek out three more gems ... Jamie Lawrence? Joe Allen? Tom Lawrence? Joe Rodon?

absolutely buzzing with this news... cracking move for Wilson. Hopefully he kicks on in the same way as Brooks. great news for Wales. Do Bournemouth want Joe Allen as well (ridiculous that he is still playing in the championship).

Interesting to hear that they have released Harry Arter on loan (to Fulham) despite their injury crisis. Talk Sport were claiming this morning that Kloop was back to his old tricks in putting penalty clauses in the contract if Harry gets under-used... But we have heard that before about Starman as well ...

Interesting to hear that they have released Harry Arter on loan (to Fulham) despite their injury crisis. Is your Joe Allen sense tingling? Yeah Arter's done at AFCB; he wants to move on for personal reasons. Do you see Wilson as someone who can play in the middle then? I think he'd do well for us behind the other Wilson as a CF. With Brooks out we'll definitely be missing some creativity in midfield.

Personally, I saw a fair bit of Harry as a striker, playing for LFC U23 - and I like him to go back into that position, especially for Wales. He was used by Derby mostly as a number 10, forcing Lawrence into a wider position. When Mount was playing as well, Frank seemed to put both Harry and Lawrence on the wings, though... To answer your question, Harry could be a very decent attacking midfielder as well. His pressing skills are excellent and his stamina to track back is also very good.

He's not a traditional 10, so don't expect him to be spraying passes or being clever in tight areas. He's a fair dribbler but as a 10 his strength is goal scoring from central areas, and getting beyond the striker. His all round play needs a bit of working on, but his final product is great. This is unusual as normally with younger players their all round play is good but they lack final product. Don't forget that you've acquired a fantastic set piece taker too. Real opportunties to score more direct free kicks, and goals from crosses.

30m screamer with his left wand ;-) Another shot (off target) from 20m earlier with his right ... and forced a fantastic save, just before the half time break.
