He started the game, came off after 64 mins I saw his whole 63 minutes and he was super fit. Lead by example and did plenty of pressing of the ball. Perhaps not quite as sharp as he was last year, but certainly physically fit.

Would love him to move to DCFC, where he would be appreciated :+) That Chris Wilder must have caught the Emery bug, with irrational dislike of Starman ;-)

Thought this would happen.
Maybe a loan to a mid table / struggling club will be better, and more chance of game time.
Don't blame Sheff Utd for not playing him, they're playing well enough, and he's clearly not impressed in training.

He looks a lot taller these days. Growth spurt destroyed his game. He looks pretty ordinary at the moment

Poor game - but he has quality. Just needs game time to get his confidence back.

Feel very sad for him, but should be nowhere near our squad right now. He looked slow, pensive and out of sorts last night.
It may be lack of game time, but it's worrying that he's probably not even impressing in training to get game time.
Not sure where he goes from here, can't imagine he'll be that highly sought after.

Just to jog everyone's memory Woodburn was born in 1999 and is perhaps not ready for the scrap heap just yet.

Still only 19. Brooks and Wilson have 2 years on him! Easy to forget that. Boy desperately needs game time.

Agree, he came on with a bang and was the next bale... we seem to be like this with our youngsters. All talented but need experience, if only a manger would play him and not worry about the result 🤔 then his and others will be under less pressure when qualifiers come 😎

It really isn't the end of the world that he is not getting into a top end Championship side. For his development I think he'd be better off playing for a low end Championship team and getting minutes that way. Sounds like Klopp is thinking this too. I have to emphasise that we really shouldn't panic regarding Ben. Some players take longer to mature into the senior game. Look at Jesse Lingard, Fergie stated that he was the type of player who wouldn't breakthrough until he was 24/25. Who knows our Ben could be like that too. He could break through when he's 21, who knows? The one thing I'm certain about is that he has been hyped up for a reason, and will have a good career.

Ben is back with Liverpool and played for the u23s today. Probably the best place for him right now with a view to getting sharp for a loan next season.

Hopefully a loan move in january which works out better, after getting his confidence back at liver for a few weeks. Somewhere middle-ish championship as another poster suggested.

For me, he was the most disappointing against Albania. He looks like he's grown/put a few pounds on.
Apparently Giggs has pulled him up about his lack of form/being out of shape. That was done prior to the Denmark/Albania double header - probably in the Spain/Ireland camp.
My understanding is that he'll go back to Liverpool after Christmas, although things could change with injuries at United (plus FA Cup might give him an opportunity).

Hope that he goes somewhere and builds his confidence up again. Would be happy for him to go to Scotland or even League 1, play games and score goals!

DS saying that The Starman is back in training with the first team :-)
And there is some interesting straight talk from The Kloop about Ben and the loan system.

I have never been a fan of Klooop, but he can teach our Unai a thing or two about appreciating talent ;-)

Starman starting tonight (7pm) in the derby for the U23. Apparently, in the Striker position. Only his second start this year since back from his ankle injury. Isaac Christie-Davies co-staring along side ;- For Everton: Nathan Broadhead and Ryan Astley. Live stream here:
EDIT Nathan Broadhead on the scoresheet after 7' Christie-Davies giving the ball away in his own half ... twice Liverpool are really poor. Woodburn getting no support at all, and needing to come really deep to pck up balls.
Broadhead got a second goal - must have impressed Kloop, that was sat in the Anfield stand ;-)

If anyone has the time, it might be worth watching today's lunchtime KO v Derby County U23. This time, Woody has The Ox alongside him - so this should make things a little more interesting. KO is 2pm and County are a very decent side! Live stream here www.olweb.tv/lfc-tv - you may need to allow pop-ups, otherwise there is a block
