With Sorba injured this would be a good time to call him up Definitely. Sorba also hasn't been playing as a wing back for a while, so Burns is probably our 3rd best performing RWB even if Sorba was fit. You could even make the argument that he should be Roberts' understudy at RWB since Neco is currently nailed on the left. If Roberts' was injured, would you rather shift Neco to RWB and play Norrington-Davies at LWB, or keep Neco at LWB and play Burns at RWB? I suppose the former is the more defensive option while the latter is more attacking, so it would depend on the opposition, but Burns should definitely be in the conversation. I'm sure Page would just stick to RND though. Burns should definitely be in the summer camp though (if it's still happening?), and I'd like to see him given a chance in one of Nations League games - maybe the Poland game before the final, since we'll hopefully be resting Neco and Roberts.

There are lots of unknowns about him and the level he can perform at as a RWB. As I understand it, he has blistering pl=ace and can carry the ball really well. He was decent as a wing forward in League 1, but wasn't consistent or productive enough which is why he's shifted into that wing back role. He may have shown that he can do it at L1 level (although I have no idea how well he's done defensively), but could be all at sea against better opposition. So definitely one to test in friendlies or even nations league games, but he's definitely more in the try him out category than our second choice RWB

Some players find their way much later in their careers, if Burns is in form he's definitely worth a look in a friendly or even just to train with the squad and see how he works with them.

Could be a very useful option for us if he's truly becoming a very good WB. At the moment, we only have Neco and Roberts who can actually fulfill that role well, so a back for those two is great news.
I can see him taking Gunters' place very soon, as we have enough back three options, but not enough WB's.
The jury is still out on Sorba for me at international level, so Burns is worth a look.

Agree, wing-back certainly feels like it's a spot in our squad that we haven't truly resolved yet
Neco & Connor far and away 1st options. If either get injured RND can play LWB but doesn't light the world up. Sorba hasn't played that position for most of the season now. There's opportunities there
Burns is certainly a viable option. Declan John might be worth a look. Younger players like Stevens or Huggins I think will eventually push their case
I always say that Dan James could transition to that role - maybe long term this will happen when he loses a bit of pace. An ideal scenario would be Jay DaSilva declaring for us but obviously I think that's highly unlikely
Long story short, we could do worse than Burns

From what I've seen, he has a lot of potential! Needs a loan though as he has two top class left backs ahead of him

First cap, and really looked the part. Bright, driving us forward & trying things. Didn't look phased in the slightest. Looking forward to see more from him in the future

Needs to get himself a move to a Championship club with aspirations of going up like Sorba did, it was shop window time for a few of those lads today.

I was very impressed with Burns, and thought he should have played the whole game -why didn't Page bring off Smith for Williams instead?
Looked like he'd been playing international football for years.

Forgotten man Wes.
Popped up with the winning goal for Ipswich last night.
Is he still in contention all for a WC place?

Both Burn and Lee Evans are having really good seasons at top end of League 1 and benefiting from learning under Kieran McKenna.
Burns is only 28 and won't be 29 until November next year but does play RWB/RW which is position of relative strength for us currently. I think he's got better all-round game than Sorba Thomas as of today while recognising that Sorba is 4 years younger and has x factor of special delivery into the box.
Lee Evans plays in position we're struggling for numbers in currently. He'll be 29 at end of July and, having already played in Championship without setting world alight, probably needs a good season before consideration by which time he'll be over 30 which will probably go against him as late (re)starter on international scene. Never say never but he might have found the right club and right manager just a little too late in his career.

Two assists tonight. I'd have him over Sorba based on this season so far. I think he's a more natural WB too.

Our Wes got another assist today. Are we all assuming that Wes and Nathan are both being called up on Wednesday? (looks like our Lee - that had a great end of year - hasn't been invoved for last five weeks. Injury?)

Was very impressed with Wes on his debut against Poland, sure he had a harder time of it out in the Netherlands but so did everyone bar Brennan in that 1st half
A shame he hasn't had a chance since then, so I'm glad to see that he's back. Although I do feel he's better on the right than the left

Really hope between Zac Ashworth and Owen Beck one of them turns out decent. That spot in the team at left wing back is unchallenged!

Interesting to see where RND will play long term. More than good enough for us at left wing back, but played most of the season before his injury at left sided centre half for Sheffield Utd.
