Cant help thinking that there will be a catch to any bid and if that being the case would like us to proceed with caution!!

Back in the news joint bid by Wales,England,Scotland and N Ireland and them ROI lot. Why the hell are they involving the ROI in the bid? They've said that they want 2 or 3 max stadiums in London to participate for a 48 team world cup. And also said that stadiums like Anfield, Old Trafford, and Spurs new stadium are unsuitable at the moment due to the extra requirements for World Cup games. Will be interesting to see what the plan is for where these games will be held but can't imagine this'll happen without huge government investment in stadiums or favourable concessions to owners of clubs to improve/expand their stadiums. Can't see the Liberty expanding in this time. Similar sized stadiums to the CCS bid for the 2018 World Cup in England and though it's an expanded tournament it's a Wales/Scotland/England/N Ireland/ROI tournament so no guarantee that it'll be accepted. Hope it's both but could be just the Millenium that gains.

Hope it fails. The vast sums of government money which are sure to be needed to bolster any bid could be utilised far better elsewhere.

Does anyone think FIFA is going to accept a 5 host tournament? From what I saw, it's just the Maybot being ignorant and thinking the UK has a national team. She is only bringing this up because she is trying to kiss Irish arse over the English border over there splitting up Ireland.

Not for me thanks. Not interested in being part of the England show with a few token games in the other nations.

And I'm fearful that any resurgent show by the Home Nations (provided we qualify) fuels that old "why don't we have a Team GB" chestnut. We might all be at loggerheads with each other by then anyway.

if this means that we can't be drawn to play against any of the home nations in the actual finals - I am all for it ;-)

If these little Englander fuckers are so keen to get on with Brexit, they'll need to put every penny into surviving that rather than an expensive vanity propaganda project. Russia spent £11bn on their world cup, granted we have some existing infrastructure already in place, but we'd still be looking at over £5bn being spent on something that isn't guaranteed to turn a profit. The magic money tree just keeps on giving.

Would it be nice, if it is a British World Cup, seeing as we are the home nation could we do a special one off Great Britain team? I’m not suggesting permanently, I love watching Wales on tv, it’s just a bit silly if we can all come together to host the tournament why shouldn’t we do it on the pitch? Get the entire nation behind one team.
We do it in rugby so there’s no danger of losing our independence. Could be good to bring the country together with all the divisions with Brexit, show the world we are still the UNITED Kingdom.

With Brexit, and a potential nose-sticking into Venezuela (didn't realise we had any money for that but hey-ho), will we have any money left to stage a World Cup? Maybe we'll need to extend the hosting bid to the European nations to help us cover the costs....

We have plenty of money to host a World Cup, we already have much of the stadia and infrastructure, there are not many countries with our capabilities to host at the drop of a hat. We certainly dont need hand outs from Europe, those same handouts which are in fact our own money coming back to us. Sick of reading political comments on this board attributed to sport (when it has no relation). Hell lets go no-deal then we have £39bn, will have £28bn change after paying for the World Cup! We could have three.

Could Northern Ireland host it by themselves with the billions being pumped in to the place to keep this government in power?

The rest of what I said was in jest. Forget ahout political comments, we can't make political jokes and make light of our situation or perceived rivalries without getting into an argument about it??! Pfft....
