Bale was comfortably our most important player in the Euros, and probably would have been in the World Cup qualifiers had he remained fit. As it was Allen was our most influential player, and is likely to remain so until Ampadu establishes himself, or Bale returns to full, consistent fitness. You need to earn the right to play and Allen is key to that as things stand. Do you think so? I thought he was pretty standard at the Euros. Free kicks aside, which I know were massively important goals, I felt he didn’t stand out for his standards. If Harry Wilson scored 2 free kicks, a goal and assisted an own goal I’d be thinking he’s amazing. My expectations of Bale we’re so high though I was hoping he’d drag us through every match, maybe unfairly high expectations on my part though. Thought Ramsey was our best player at the Euros even though I don’t think he contributes enough for Wales before or since.

Can`t believe that no one has put forward Ashley Williams, a good team will always need a good captain and he has been Wales`s top captain in my opinion even though Yorath is one of my favourites.

I don't disagree with this - when I mentioned the Euros I meant the qualification period as well as the tournament. Ramsey and Allen were overall more influential in the finals - although you can't forget Bale's goals in the group stage and his superb cross that did for Northern Ireland.

Just can't understand why no top flight clubs wanted him in any country 😎 How do you know they didn't? The problem for Joe is that Stoke have very rich owners who are determined to get back to the Premier League at the first opportunity and stated at an early stage that Allen wasn't for sale. Allen could have demanded a transfer, but the man has integrity - and was rewarded with a new, improved contract. Any Premier League club wanting him will have to pay serious money. It may yet happen, but ultimately transfers are business transactions and if clubs are making excessive demands then deals don't happen. If Stoke don't get promoted Allen is going to have to change tack.

Up until very recently I’d have said the same. For a good while we struggled to score without Bale and struggled to dominate without Ramsey and Allen, but we could completely collapse without Williams.

He might be fairly important in so much that we don’t have experienced backup, but he still isn’t very good and it won’t take much to replace him.

He always proves his doubters wrong in club and international football.. We’ll have to agree to disagree - I’m a doubter, and I feel I’m being consistently proven right! Terrible positioning and footwork which leads to him conceding a very high number of goals, but rarely looks to blame (because he’s always standing in the wrong place) His experience has been good for us though, and he’s been a calming influence in the dying minutes of many a match, especially taking high balls.

Shakiri had a release clause in his contract, whereas Arnautovic left in the summer before Stoke were relegated. You really do have a compulsion to put Joe down Welshiron. You do realise he's had 7 seasons with clubs in the Premier League, including four at a top 6 team in Liverpool. After Bale and Ramsey he is the Welsh player with the most distinguished playing record at club level - and that's before you start on his vital contribution to the Welsh cause.
Allen currently leads the Championship stats for tackles made - an interesting development in his game, and a good adaptation to the Championship.

I think Joe is a good player and is very important for us.
However, someone has to provide a bit of balance. Think you would vote for him to win the Ballon D'or.
Facts are facts
He couldn't get in the Liverpool team
He plays for Stoke.
Stoke are mid table so what is Joe achieving there. If he was that good they would be higher up the table.

Facts are facts - Joe Allen played the majority of Premier League games for Liverpool in every one of his four seasons there - including the last, where he managed 37 appearances in all competitions.
I've explained why he's had the misfortune of ending up where he is, but you're not interested in understanding why he's currently trapped in the Championship.
