Young Samuel (still 17) had eight starts last season for the Bristol City U23 with two goals, from midfield. He also had two sub appearances for the seniors in the FA Cup. Highly regarded (together with his twin brother Callum Pearson).
Played yesterday out in Paris v PSG U19 - ended 0-0

On after 30 minutes and having a really decent game so far! City were already 0-2 down when he came on, so perhaps less pressure for first Championship performance.
Was played out of position - first 30' at RWB and then at LWB, but was always bombing forward and made 3 or 4 superb late runs that were not always rewarded by his team-mates.
Had a decent shot on target early in 2nd half and showed loads of great energy covering every blade of grass.
George Thomas came on for QPR after 80' - first league game for almost two months.

Good that a few LWB options are coming through I believe Sam at WB today was a forced sub due to injury. Whenever I saw him for Wales he has always been an attacking MF or even a winger.
Getting a lot of love on the dreaded Twitter ...

A lot of players start out further forward, and end up gravitating backwards though. Neco is a prime example of that. Sometimes there is just space in the squad for a full back and not a winger, so young players can get themselves 1st team football adapting to playing further back. Declan John another one who was a winger but was given his opportunity as a full-back and stayed there throughout his career. Hope Sam's career doesn't have the same trajectory as Declan's though!* *Edit - maybe I'm being a bit harsh on Declan there - just been on his wiki to see he's still 25 & has scored 2 goals in 8 games on loan at Bolton. Perhaps there's hope yet that he can break through into regular senior football, League One may be his level for now though

Was he playing as a winger or a wing back? On Flashscore it details Sam as playing on the wing.

Released from Bristol City on a free and joined Yeovil Town from National League South. I hope this is not due to any personal / family issues - as I am sure that he could have got into a much higher league. Been great every time I've seen him play for Wales and BCFC.
Good luck, Samuel!
