Never heard of him before, but you're right. His school posted it on twitter and he replied basically confirming. Must be a good prospect to make the squad at 17. Anyone know anything about him?

He's played for Wales U16s and for England U15s. At Cardiff since he was 10 and Brynteg school so how has played for England too?

Maybe the way most our youth squad of recent years seem to have been born and/or educated in England? He's not in our Under-17 squad this season in any case so maybe keeping his options open, evidently from the name would have African relatives too.

Is it possible that we have an up and coming Welsh classic number 9, in our midst, here in Cardiff?!

Bellamy rates highly. Would be a shame if he chooses England

Promising looking player, with the changes Cardiff are making to their academy setup hopefully he can progress well.

Do we know if he’s fully committed to us? don’t think he was in the March u17s or 19s squads, was he injured?
He seems to have a strong connection with Zambia (fair enough) on his social media. I fear he may be holding out for them tbh.
Christ I’m bored.....looks like he liked (and commented an aplause emoji) a post from a Zambia football page essentially asking him to play for them.

With Adomah leaving Cardiff, could Mayembe see some gametime?
No, probably not, but there's a chance

With Adomah leaving Cardiff, could Mayembe see some gametime? No, probably not, but there's a chance Unlikely I think. Adomah was brought in to cover Mendez-Laing's injury, but now he's back we don't really need Adomah anyway. We have 4 senior wingers in NM-L, Hoilett, Murphy and Whyte, so barring a few injuries I don't see Mayembe getting a chance unfortunately. The downside of Cardiff's good run of form and renewed playoff hopes is that I doubt any youngsters will get a chance this season now. On the bright side Neil Harris has been talking a lot about the youth players and name-dropping a few of them quite a lot (Mayembe and Sam Bowen being the Welsh ones mentioned often). He said he thinks they'll regularly be making the bench next season. I'll believe it when I see it, but there's a lot more hope now that there was under Warnock at least.

Scored for the 23s last week against millwall in a 3-1 win. Dropped down to u18 today and scored again against swansea.

Interestingly he played as a LWB for the U23s. It would be good from a Welsh perspective if he could establish himself at that position because we don't have much depth there.

Mayembe's been called up by Zambia's seniors for their upcoming friendlies.

Good luck to him.
Zambia have Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala (Sakala now signed for Rangers) who have both had good campaigns for their sides this season. Both of whom weren't called up for their upcoming friendlies. So I'd imagine for Zambia the perfect opporunity to call up Taz

Good luck to him but surprising decision.
Unless you are an elite player then disappearing for chunks of the season to play in Africa will not be positive for your career.
Also playing for Wales could potentially keep you in the shop window even if you club career is not rocking
How old is he? You would hope his friends and family would be advising him to keep his options open if he is very young

www.dragonsoccer.co.uk/newsite/index.php?subaction=showfull&id=1614326279&archive=&start_from=&ucat=4&Ntazana Mayembe (Cardiff City) born 2003, Forward. Ntazana had been associated with Cardiff for many seasons as a schoolboy before starting his time as a scholar with the club at the beginning of last season. Making his debut for the U-18 team as a very young player in the 2016/17 season, he made an appearance off the bench for the team and followed that with a few more appearances the next season. In his last season in a schoolboy status and his time as a scholar he has played in roughly a little over half of the games played by the team, last season being a particularly productive one in the goal scoring statistics, as he averaged a goal every other game. Regarded as a wide player, he makes use of his excellent speed and his progress last season was also rewarded with a couple of bench duty games for the first team in January 2020. He recently played and scored for the U-23 team, having also played a few times at that level in previous seasons. Ntazana has represented both England and Wales in schoolboy internationals but has not done so for either nation since that time.

Probably feels more Zambian, and hope he does well - would be good to see him succeed in Africa

You would hope his friends and family would be advising him to keep his options open if he is very young Maybe he simply wants to play for them? Career progress isn’t everything, especially when international football is concerned. A lot of our players play for us because they want to, even though they could have held out for an England call up and had that “shop window” as you call it. I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be to keen on any player doing that to us, so why should we want Mayembe to do it to Zambia? Good on him.
