Football manager used to incorrectly claim Shawcross was eligible before the schooling rule came in and it also used to claim Cameron Jerome And Will Hughes were eligible. But still if this ones accurate like in the case of Surman that would be bloody interesting! |

I remember convincing him to declare for us and him becoming one of our better players on there, and playing a front 3 of Bowen-Bale-Ramsey

Young lad that started for Hull called Harry Vaughan. I imagine he’s probably been checked but thought he may have some Welsh with that surname down the line somewhere!

Yep my mistake, the guy I meant is Bobby Thomas who was on loan from Burnley, he played in the play-off final, Chester lad aged 22, there is a Luke Thomas at Barnsley as well. |

Yes, contentious issue round here. All the local lads used to be born at Mancot Maternity (Speed, Ratcliffe) then the UK government shut it so all the later arrivals from that area (Owen, Shawcross) end up being born in Chester. This Bobby Thomas may well be one of the "border babies" |
