Dafydd Iwan confirmed to be performing Yma o Hyd before kick off Apparently its the players' anthem too: 6:14 onwards...apparently Gunter's been leading the singing! I don't know why but this just fills me with pride. That the players also sing & find affinity with something that's so culturally important to the fans, it probably shouldn't matter but somehow it really, really does!

With full band or solo acoustic?
Dafydd Iwan, pre-match, that is!

Just listening to the Coleman had a Dream podcast preview of the Austria game where they pointed out the rather terrifying prospect that this game could go to penalties. Who do you see as being our penalty takers?

Who do you see as being our penalty takers? Bale Ramsey Dan James Neco Connor Roberts You would think Harry Wilson would be ideal for them, but I've seen him miss a couple and he doesn't seem to have a good record. Conversely, you would expect James to be more rash with his, but I'm pretty sure he scored 2/2 in penalty shootouts for Man U. Johnson's scored one or two this season, but also missed his last one. You'd imagine Ben Davies would be decent, Allen would be my next choice, then we're down to the likes of Rodon and Hennessey!

Allen look a terrible penalty in the Netherlands friendly. It was a while ago so he may have improved since then...or got worse. None of them fill me with too much confidence tbh, other than Ramsey and Bale, and they may not be on the pitch by that point.

I wouldn’t put money on anyone, it’s higher pressure stakes than a Carling cup 1/4 final, or any other scenario most of our players would have taken penalties in before. As such I suspect it will be less an issue of technique and more one of handling the pressure. I don’t think I’d like to be taking one, if it came down to it!

Bale missed 2 last year. Scored 2.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

As for the successful pens, wasn’t one of his goals against Belarus a pen? Then maybe one for Spurs?

Oh, I can't remember if he took any for Spurs 😅
Yes 2 pens vs Belarus. One miss against AC Milan in a pre-season friendly and then in the Euros.

Think I might walk out if it goes to pens, can't hack that. It's a shit way to settle your chances of qualifying for a tournament that only takes place every four years. Even more so when you've not qualified for 60 odd years. There was an interesting stat on the BBC that apparently only Luxembourg, Finland and Israel have had as many failed world cup qualifying attempts as us. That's a really grim record when you take into account how many near misses there have been in that time and that we blew every single one of them.

For all you people who get worried sick(I’ll be one of them), lets remember we avoided Italy and Portugal. Potentially 2 home games. There’s no hard luck story here.

Ramsey 3. Wilson 4. James 5. Allen 6. Neco 7. Brennan 8. Ben Davies 9. Connor 10. Whoever is the most experienced player from here on out... I'd trust those first 7 but beyond that we'd struggle...

Are we sure that the game is this week? Reason I ask is that it’s the 12th article down in the sports pages of Walesonline (I know, I know) www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/

At first I was just pleased that we're still part of it but emotions are really taking over now, I'm not even that fussed about Qatar, I just want this team to achieve what no Welsh side has ever done before because it will lay down foundations for a potentially bright future. We're living in the golden era and I don't want it to stop!
