There's been lots of discussion on here about a potential wild card inclusion in the squad. We had Colwill selected ahead of far more obvious choices for the Euros, and with a 26-man squad I would be surprised if there wasn't a wild card. Page has openly said that Luke Harris could make the Nations League and world cup squad, although with Willian joining Fulham he's probably slipped down to third choice CAM and unlikely to get gametime. Owen Beck is another top prospect who's had a good loan move. Fin Stevens could make a name for himself at Swansea. Oli Cooper is getting lots of praise and seems to have surpassed Cameron Congreve. Pat Jones is getting more and more gametime at Huddersfield with their fans raving about his cameo appearances, so probably only a matter of time before he starts games. I've probably missed a couple, but who would people bet on making it?

I imagine it's more likely to be a forward and the way Harris has been mentioned continually suggests to me it may be him
Jordan James may get a shot if he's committed?

I've probably missed a couple, but who would people bet on making it? I’d probably go with Jordan James. I’d be surprised if he isn’t called up to the squad for the NL games. Allen, Levitt, Morrell Amps would be in front of him, possibly Matt Smith (really disapointed that he’s only getting limited minutes at MKDons). Out of the original options though, I’d go for Owen Beck. For me, Beck should be 2nd choice LWB, with RND taking JLaw’s place as deputy to Ben Davies. Fin Stevens unlucky that we’ve got Neco and CRobs in front of him. But can also play CM. Guess the wildcard is unlikely to feature anyway. But I think the most pressing need is to find the new Joe Allen, and I feel JJ is our current best bet.

Neco is covering left back at the moment for us.
I picked Finley as a long shot! Harris is the obvious one and will get perhaps 10 mins in the Nations League but he is not getting a minute with Fulham at the moment.
If and it is a big if, Finley starts matches for Swansea all the way through to November and plays well defensively then I would like to see him there instead of Gunter with one eye on the future. I am however not stupid - whatever I think - Page will pick Gunter but the guy is finished and should not be there. Take a Finley (if he is getting game time) or even a Beck (if his talent potential justifies it) with us for the experience for future campaigns.

I think Morrell and Matt Smith getting limited minutes could open a spot in central midfield as Page has been hammering home gametime. So I'd fancy James. I think all the rest we're pretty well stacked in so barring injuries I wouldn't foresee them being included.
I'd also go with Beck if he can get minutes. But he might have Declan John and Iredale in front of him. I'd fancy an out and out left wing back might be able to be a wild card. Other one that comes to mind is Ben Williams at Cheltenham.
If Jay DaSilva ever fancied making a switch he'd be nailed on 2nd choice left wing back no bother.

Andy King has got himself fit again, playing a part in Bristol City's squad!
James Chester only 33, don't think he's played this year - injured?

Tom Lowery is another one I guess, seeing as he seems to be ahead of Morrell in the pompey pecking order. James seems to have been dropped from the first team recently after Birmingham made a couple of loan signings, so think he'll miss out.

I'll go bold, Charlie Savage.
Tom Lowery as my less bold shout.

Haven't heard of Luke Harris, has he been playing much? 17 year old attacking midfielder currently a regular with Fulham u23s and has been in most Fulham 1st team squads this season, playing 45 mins in the EFL Cup. He's been most noticed for his goalscoring ability from midfield 21/22 Premier League 2 18 games, 13 goals. This includes 1 hattrick, and 4 in 1 game against Burnley So far this season he has 4 goals in 2 games in Premier League 2, including a hattrick against a very strong Chelsea u23 team including Ampadu, Chilwell & Chalobah Remember, he is just 17 playing against some players who are much older than him & he's a midfielder! Top prospect!
