Anyone think the Estonia home match was pretty embarrassing? I'm pretty sure Will Ferrell nearly won it for them with a free kick.

No we had plenty of chances to win that game but it wasn't our day, I don't think it was that bad a performance. I thought we performed worse away in Tallinn but not enough to warrant a mention in this thread.

That said, losing 5-1 at home to Slovakia in 2006 wasn't much fun either. I've never watched the game back, but from memory of being there, it didn't feel like we actually played that badly on the day. There was a sense of everything they hit seemed to go in, and we were completely deflated. I always thought that 1-0 defeat against Ireland at Croke Park was rubbish. Two really dire sides playing a terrible game of football with the sun shining on us all through the game on that open terrace.

I seem to remember we finished that match with James Collins playing up front. Fans today moaning that we lost to Belgium/Poland with half a dozen players missing don't know they're born

Surely not a 'proper' match, though - not even an 'international' friendly? Q: Why did we stoop to playing Orient anyway? Preparation for WC qualifier v San Marino apparently. We had virtually a first choice eleven out Giggs, Savage, Coleman, Hughes, Saunders et al and there was a 5000 crowd. Next match was a 6 nil win v Cwmbran with Gould coming on as a sub and scoring. Pretty much sums up his era. Halcyon days chaps. Halcyon days.

Serbia away. Chris Coleman grabbing a Welsh player and throwing him back on the pitch because he'd given up. Oh deary me.

Think that's why it was a low point for me.(in footballing terms!) Not so much the importance of the result itself but just as a focal point for how embarrassingly amateurish we were. Just seemed hopeless.
