I thought I’d ought to complete the current survey about a new digital platform. It turned out to be very quick.
Q1. Are you prepared to pay. Answer No (I pay for too much for footy already).
End of survey.
So looks like you’ll have to pay for the ‘exclusive video content’ whatever that is going to be.
No harm FAW wanting additional revenue streams but this feels like ‘let’s find out what fans want and then put it behind a pay wall.

Just filled in the survey with the same answer. I'm unsure what that content would be, but just paid 20 (+4 admin fees) for the membership, surely they should try whatever they plan to do for members only.
If it's successful, offer it as an add-on for the 2024-26 membership.

Thought I'd try and help them with honest feedback, answered no to Q1 and it's thanks but no thanks. If they take games off terrestrial they'll lose good will and the momentum they've helped build. I can't seebwhat else anyone would want to pay for

Where is the survey? Or was it the one referred to in a "we have enough replies" tweet?

Have you guys seen the type of output that the Premier League clubs, like LFC TV, put out? It’s a mixture of in-house features and content and documentaries. They have sponsors for all their most-viewed YouTube features that are free to all, and must make a decent wedge off that, as well as the higher-value stuff (docs) behind a paywall.
It’s something that’s long overdue IMO. If we are serious about growing our revenue/global reputation (which will happen after the World Cup, especially with this Netflix doc), then this is something that needs to happen.
However I do think there’s an argument to be made that it should be part of the red wall membership rather than an extra fee on top of that

The membership should cover this surely, its £24 for little more than the right to buy tickets before general sale

It’s £22 and allows access to -
- away tickets - campaign tickets - 15% off kit - other offers - final tournament ticket access

I just paid £24 and I know exactly what the benefits are, get your facts right before you do the tedious pedantic thing. Adidas frequently has offers that means anyone without membership can get kit reductions better than 15%.
Would you be happy to pay to access content on top of your membership?

You paid £24 as you must’ve bought one membership. I’ll be buying 10 in one go so will cost £22.20 per membership. No I don’t want to pay extra to listen to interviews.

Just to add I'm ok paying £20 membership and appreciate the 15% discount and other offers but the additional fees can do one.

Let's be honest the way the world is going everything will be behind a pay wall eventually.

Let's be honest the way the world is going everything will be behind a pay wall eventually. That's fair enough ,but a tipping point is coming,I already resented the membership fee, games maybe going to a pay channel,it's OK at the moment success on the field means my place will be taken by the new generation if I decide to back out ,but it leaves a sour taste, international football in Cymru seemed above this prosaic money grubbing shite.

The only way to combat it is don’t pay, the FAW will soon get the message…if they haven’t already from the survey results! Personally I think it’s an own goal asking fans if they will pay more for stuff during the current cost of living times and an expensive world cup. It’s probably a discussion for a different time

Years ago maybe but everything that can be commercialised these days is. Look at the sponsorship stuff at international level nowadays, national associations are becoming commercial entities in the same way as clubs are and I’ll bet if you raised this with Mooney the first thing he would reply is “but we’re a business”.

I know what you're saying but how much can you commercialise an international team, especially one with a small population, a limited diaspora and no massive global appeal? I'm not sure what the FAW's intention is here but the survey feels like a rare (in recent times) own goal by them.

Just decided NOT to renew mine and the Mrs memberships. Several reasons behind that. Care to share? Being brutally honest I’ve been following Wales away since Nuremberg and I’ve stopped enjoying it. The last few away games I’ve not even bothered going to the ground and me and Mrs have stayed in a bar and watched the game. Just a personal preference. That’s all.

That’s fair enough but don’t forget membership could get you a campaign ticket, if you buy those, and if we need a play-off etc tickets may not go on general sale. Then there’s the euro tournament if we qualify.

Like I say just a personal feeling.

Over time things change, enthusiasm wanes, quite a lot of people I know who used to be regulars don't go anymore.

Me and the Mrs were always in the top group for away tickets but have even let that slide over the past campaign. I guess life kinda gives you other priorities over time.

It was a really niave survey if they are going to base future actions on it.
What people say is one thing - what people do once they have had a product marketed to them and can see what they are getting and understand the costs involved - one-off or on going - is so completely different.

Yes especially with a vague description like exclusive video content. I related this to the type of stuff that many clubs provide free on their websites. That is quite different from matches.
