Genuine question and not a dig at the FAW, but why do tickets go on sale so late? The venue was announced months ago so why the delay? I'm fine for tickets as ion 8 of 9 last aways but for those sweating on tickets it's not a cheap trip and some won't risk it, booking late is then normally more expensive so a bit unfair. I’m sure they put them on sale at the earliest opportunity. The planning for this could still go all tits up. There's an election there next week and if as the polls suggest, Erdogan loses, then they'll probably have the tanks back on the street as they battle for power.

manulike swears by WizzAir, but I refuse to fly with them now because they refused to give me a refund for a flight during Covid. Shame really as it looks that they are the airline that has the most flights in and out of Yerevan for the Armenia trip. Yes. I've been on them about 35-40 times in the last ten years. Can't say that they were any better or worse than EasyJet or RyanAir. One thing that you are almost certain to find on Wizz is that they seem to change their schedules in about 75% of their flights ... Sometimes it worked out great (if you are flexible - like me) but often it can be frustrating and you might then need to refund the flight and buy another one) if you need to catch a connection...
As for Armenia ... Very much looking forward to going back there!
Fist time flying with Wizz and as predicted, the flights to and from Istanbul have been changed. Had a few emails since booking, advising of minor changes causing no real problems. Email received today, return flight from Istanbul to Gatwick on 21st June cancelled, rescheduled for next day. A one night stopover didn’t sound like fun so I’ve extended for 3 more nights. Not a massive problem, as it was the last leg of the return trip, but won’t be keen to use them in future if there is an alternative.

I really did not know that Wizz flew to Turkey. Might be useful on my leg back as EasyJet and Jet2 are silly prices in July! If you prefer NOT staying in Istanbul those three nights, Wizz do allow you to refund 120% credit and utilise this over the next two years. They fly to BUDAPEST and IASI in Romania for €25-€40 and from there there are plenty of Ryan Air and EasyJet options!

The extra 3 nights in Istanbul on return from the game are ok with me. My other half wasn’t exactly doing handstands when I told her we were going directly to Samsun and straight back home, skipping Istanbul ! Wizz’ schedule changes worked in my favour this time, provided they don’t now change the outgoing leg to Istanbul.

Looks like Erdogan is going to have an outright victory, but with only the slimest of margins - which is probably the most destabilising result of all - and it is bound to be vigorously contested, with mass demonstartions etc.
"With almost 90% of ballot boxes counted, Erdogan leads opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu with 50.83% of the votes to Kilicdaroglu's 43.36%, according to figures from state-owned agency"

Disappointing allocation, although it does say approximately. I wonder what are these safety concerns they mention?

The stadium is something like 33k so 1600 was a rough figure to be expected given. We always reduce it by a bit due to UK safety being better than UEFAs requirements.

Think this will not be as popular as Riga Despite the smaller stadium, I hope the FAW will be pushing for 2000 tickets for Riga.
That said, I don't remember FAW sending the expected attendance survey email for Turkey (or for Croatia)??

I think the survey came out a long time ago way before the location of the game had been announced. I would guess that a lot indicated they would go thinking it was Istanbul but I guess the move to Samsun will have put quite a few off.

May well have been December during the World Cup, and I must have missed it being away and with a local sim card.

Just a hunch, but I'll be surprised if we sell this one out.
Not sure why but just doesn't seem to be popular - I know a few regulars who aren't bothering with it.
Can't F'ing wait personally!

2nd stage now on sale with all areas still available, usually one of the sections will have gone in the first stage. There are no numbers to base this on but the lack of chat about it on the socials etc makes me think this probably won't sell out.

I'm on stage 2, not going, but have logged in now to see if I could work out how many sold.
Very difficult to tell unfortunately, there are 3 blocks available, 2 for £9 and 1 for £18. All 3 are offering tickets, even if I ask for 10 tickets.

Just bought in stage 4 with no issues. Only seemed to have one option for £9 tickets, but I may have misread it. I ended up in B whilst my mates had previously bought in A.

Was just about to order a physical SIM from lycamobile for £15 (gives 5gb data in Turkey) but I then did a final check and found Maya Mobile eSim packs - seem to have great TrustPilot reviews - so I got their US$8 (£6.40) 3gb eSim ... so now its over to YouTube to see how those things work! maya.net www.lycamobile.co.uk/en/bundle/aloturka-s-eve/

A 'goalfest' in Turkey back in 1997... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix2027k--uUCheck out Wales's second goal from Charlie Savage's dad! Hopefully this time round we score 4 again, but don't let the Turks bag 6!

What part of the city is everyone staying in? I'm booked in the centre near ticket collection but sounds like the nightlife area is near the Gol party bar in Atakum a few miles away so thinking of switching thefsa.org.uk/news/fsa-cymru-guide-to-turkey/
