Good move, will be interesting to see how he does. I have to say, I was disappointed when I saw him for our u21s, he had loads of mistakes in him. I was expecting better after really good reviews from his cup appearances with Brighton. Can't judge too much from a single game though obviously

Fantastic news! Possibly a very promising CB on the way, will have to see how he does, but if he can break into the Brighton team in about 3-4 years (big ask!), then he would probably be our best CB

Been starting for Leyton Orient in League To since his loan move, and he's scored tonight

Seems to be doing very well - 4 90min games containing three clean sheets and a goal. Not too shabby at all!

‘Ed Turns in the middle of defence’
Scored a cracker today. Reminds me of Ben Davies in stature and game intelligence. Orient fans love him

He received really good reviews after his cup appearances for Brighton too so looks like a really good prospect. The only time I've actually seen him is for the u21s where, tbh, I thought he looked dodgy at the back. But there's obviously only so much you can judge from one performance!

2 goals in 2, but most importantly seems to be getting praised for his overall performances. Wouldn't be surprised to see him getting a senior call up in the next 18 months tbh

Not quite sure what a left footed CB is doing burying a goal like this but there we are

He's starting for Leyton Orient this afternoon having been withdrawn from the u21 squad earlier in the week. Has any explanation been given on this. I think there was a similar instance with Charlie Savage last season, so presumably it's been mutually agreed?

No point picking him for the squad though in the first place though surely if he's going to prioritise playing for Orient over Wales? They will keep playing during international windows so pretty much rules him out of the whole campaign if that's going to continue

It's a different situation for clubs that don't have their games cancelled due to international fixtures. Most clubs wouldn't release their players if they were in a similar position, and that's why they have international breaks. And looking at it from the players perspective, why would he give up a place in the starting XI that may not be there when he returns? Furthermore, playing with men will get him into senior football much quicker than age group football will.

I'm with Ed staying with his club, if it was a call up for the full squad that's different thing altogether.

Really disappointed that he’s not been involved in the past two under 21 squads. A stand out centre half.
Deeply concerning there’s been radio silence from the FAW. Seems strange that an ex captain would seemingly reject a call up?

Seems strange that an ex captain would seemingly reject a call up? He’s the one who’s pulled out of those 2 squads. I think he’s the current captain too. He only played 45 mins last match, but yes his prior actions suggest something more than injury.

Harry Leeson(Loan to Gloucester) and Tom Davies (Kilmarnock loan but limited minutes) called up to U21s.With Jay Williams also on bench for Fulham U21 defensively look a little weak.Surprised no call up for Sam Parker who has been on bench twice recently in Championship for Swansea.Argument for upgrading a few U19s in defence as a few clearly are never going to get into the full squad. Also does appear Ed Turns is no longer a selection option. Do we think Turns has turned?

Also does appear Ed Turns is no longer a selection option. Do we think Turns has turned? Honestly I think we need to stop with these narratives as they never come true and just makes us look paranoid as a fanbase. I know you're just asking the question and I'm mostly referring to other people, but the question gets asked far too quickly in my opinion and rarely ever comes to anything Jordan James Charlie Savage Luke Harris Chris Popov Charlie Crew All of these lads have been questioned on their commitment at various times for a variety of reasons. Some of these rightly so e.g J.James when he played for England youth (although we know it's FAW policy to encourage this at times), but 99% of the time it's unnecessary, and it's better to wait situations out I don't think in recent times there has been anyone we are excited about who we've actually lost to England, maybe Ash Phillips although he was never really with us. So I think we should be more confident in our approach to these lads decisions and what it actually means when they're out of squads

I think it's more likely Turns just sees his club career as a higher priority than the U21s at the moment. I don't necessarily like it, but I can see the argument for refusing the call up if he's concerned he'll lose his place in the line-up if he goes off on international duty. I find it unlikely that he's all of a sudden eyeing England caps after a decent spell at Leyton Orient.
