Just looking at the history of the Welsh badge. We should never have changed the one from the 50’s to 90’s. It was a classic! 90’s it changed a tiny bit. I remember when Jonathan Ford came in, in the 2000’s and I saw his back ground was Coca Cola and one of Branson’s Virgin businesses, megastore I think. Marketing. I remember thinking and I said here on apostle, I bet he changes the badge. He did!!! The current one is not a disaster but I’m not buying this ‘digital friendly logo’ bull. Look at the Spanish badge!?!? That’s busy.
I also didn’t realise our first ever badge was the three feathers. Glad we changed that.

Agreed, we should never have meddled with the crest from the 90's, it was perfect....gorau chwarae, cyd chwarae.
Never liked the current badge, looks like a clipart logo somebody knocked up in 5 minutes.

I didn’t mind the 2011 redesign after about a year of getting used to it, changing the direction to look forward was a great idea and it suited the 2016 kit very well.
The current badge I think is fine and the dragon is quite detailed. Most organisations are simplifying their crests.

I have the dragon from the old badge tattooed on my leg, that badge was a thing of beauty. I didn't like the bubblelike appearance of the 2011 design, the current one is decent enough,we could have had a lot worse, I just hope they never try and incorporate the three feathers into it.

I used to love the old badge but prefer the latest one now. The heraldic shield design with banner and daffodils etc looks dated and stuffy, like the FAW carpet of yesteryear. The new one isn’t perfect but the sleek design looks better alongside other modern badges and especially when enlarged on the training facilities.

I prefer the last one, I don't like that 'Gorau Chwarae, Cyd Chwarae' was dropped.

I didn't like the badge changes at the time but I think they all needed to be done on reflection. The Spanish one is iconic, our old one wasn't. No doubt this one will change soon too but see where it goes. |
