It's 3 4 3 Darlow Rodon Cabango Davies N Williams Sheehan Wilson Burns Cullen Harris Brooks Plenty of options for ttacking players to switch positions and loads of options off the bench. Is this your take or has this been confirmed? we are all guessing on formation but with those players looks 3-4-3

Hope this comes back to bite me later, but that's the weakest Wales team I've seen since Toshack started playing the kids. In a competitive match anyway. I would say hopefully they'll go on to have the same careers but most of them are getting on a bit.

Also I’m suspicious of giving Harris more chances. Maybe I’m forgetting something obvious but can anyone think of a player who has come in, not really done well, dropped down a level and then come back and proven the doubters wrong?
To my mind players don’t tend to rebound at international level like that. Like I say, I could (and probably am) missing a very famous and obvious example….

This may reflect my ignorance but I've only heard of 4 of the clubs that the Montenegrins represent. Right back Marusic plays for Lazio, then you have a centre back playing for Rubin Kazan a midfielder playing for Qarabag and a striker playing for Lecce. There's a couple of players playing for second tier Spanish side Cartagena.
That's a top of league one overall standard or lower Championship at best.

Christ, that is a change. Burns and Cullen on the right is a major weakness, that's a worry.
Physically that looks like a very small team.
I've have more faith in the bench team than the starting 11.
Whats the deal with Mepham then?

Played better than us in the second half away so club standard means nothing......

I would say hopefully they'll go on to have the same careers but most of them are getting on a bit. That seems a bit strong. 6 of the lineup would make our strongest eleven or at least be in good contention for it. The rest have decent Championship pedigree which is at least as good as most of the Montenegro players and probably better.

Honestly don't think anyone could predict a Bellamy starting XI. Like it though

If we play to our capabilities we should be better than Montenegro even allowing for our weakened side.

I am very surprised Cooper isnt starting due to the fact we are playing with 1 genuine CM player on paper it doesnt look a strong side and I cant see how Burns/Cullen get to start its one of those starting XIs that no one will get right in a quiz in a few years time

HOwever, if there's one thing I've learned from watching international football, most players who's name ends with a 'ić' are usually decent!

I think we need to learn to make a distinction between in and out of possession when it comes to formation and shape. Out of possession we've had a very clear shape, certainly 4-4-2 against Turkiye and 4-2-3-1 against Iceland. I'm sure there will be a clear shape tonight too.

If that’s the case then I bow to your knowledge and that’s a very good example you’ve come up with! Although given how football has changed since then hopefully someone has a more recent example to help change my mind….

Hopefully Harris himself will change your mind with a goal or two On the topic of shooting he’s probably the one who should be having a go from range. Again though it’s all part of the modern style of football that low percentage plays like shots from distance frowned upon so I guess it’s Bellamy’s orders if anything to instead try and create better quality opportunities
