TNS will now play Petrocub Hincesti, the Moldovan champions. Don’t know much about them but feel it could have been worse. Decent chance to get a result I’d have thought. Does anyone know what happens if TNS win that but then lose the Europa League play off? Do they still get a chance at Conference League or is that it? I think they fall into the Conference League group stage?

If TNS beat Petroclub they will enter the Europa League Playoff - Win & they're in the Europa League group stage, Lose and they are in the Europa Conference League group stage
If TNS lose to Petroclub they will enter the Europa Conference League Playoff, Win and they're in the Europa Conference League group stage, lose and they're out!
Just 1 more win required to guarantee European group stage football!

I don’t know much about Petroclub either, but a brief glance at their results suggests they’re a couple of levels above TNS unfortunately. They ran APOEL very close who have recent champions league pedigree, and they beat Sheriff easily in their league last year - think Sheriff did quite well in the Europa or Conference league quite recently.

Realistically to qualify TNS will have to beat a club that's "better" than them on paper. Petrocub are probably better than them, but it's a fantastic draw for this stage of the qualification process. This is the 1st time they have won the Moldovan league and they have never qualified for a European competition. TNS need to go for it and there's no reason they can't do them over 2 legs
It's great that this isn't last chance either, the Conference League playoff is a good back up that should take some pressure off them. No reason not to put everything into winning this tie now against Petrocub

No betting odds to go on yet, only thing I can think to use for guidance is the uefa club coefficient list. TNS are currently 182nd and Petrocub are 193rd so suggests it could be close.
For more context, Decic that they beat in the first round of the champions league qualifiers are 378th and Ferencvaros who they lost to in the 2nd round are 55th. Incredibly tough draw in hindsight.
Hard to make sense of who they might face in the Conference league playoff round if they end up there but still some beatable teams will be in that round from what I can see.

I think TNS are up against it if they're facing those free scoring Moldovan internationals

If u look at petrocubs record in Europe, it isn't much different to that of tns..
If tns can replicate what they did v Plzen a few years back it could be a close tie..

Over 1000 people attending Holyhead Hotspur vs Trearddur Bay in Tier 3. 850 Rhyl v NFA new figure
Summer mid week football across the Welsh pyramid could be something to think about. So many neutrals in attendance and holiday makers.
Put the footy on BBC Wales and other UK regions, as barring any tournaments like EUROS and World Cup it'll get plenty of coverage whilst it's quiet.
The Gaelic games were broadcast on all BBC regions the other week. When I was in Sweden recently they were broadcasting the women's Norwegian league on their main channel.
Lots to think about and definitely think it could be something to consider.

Absolutely, I don't think players with a smattering of Moldovan caps are actually that much to be afraid of. If they can perform like that against Plzen who are a level above these, then they have a great chance

TNS will be unseeded in the Europa League Playoff round draw if they were to win their third round tie. They would play against one of the sides below and would almost certainly lose. The upside is losing in this round would see them automatically drop into the Conference League Group stage.
Winner of the tie involving Ajax[††] Winner of the tie involving Braga[††] Austria LASK Winner of the tie involving Maccabi Tel Aviv[††] Winner of the tie involving Molde[††] Winner of the tie involving Viktoria Plzeň[††] Loser of the tie involving Ludogorets Razgrad[†] Loser of the tie involving Midtjylland[†] Winner of the tie involving Partizan[††] Loser of the tie involving Malmö[†] Loser of the tie involving APOEL[†] Belgium Anderlecht
Should they lose in their Europa League third round game and drop into the Conference League Playoff round, they would be one of the seeded teams in the champions path (interestingly the only loser of UEL Q3 match to be seeded). It looks likely they will get a favorable draw and have a really good chance of qualification.

856 at Rhyl on Tuesday night, third tier, admittedly they were playing another team from Rhyl but a good gathering.

Draw today for the Europa and Conference league playoff rounds. TNS potential opponents in the Conference league should they lose their Europa third round tie below. I've put their club coefficient ranking in [].
Unseeded Pairing 2: KÍ Klaksvík (FRO) [143] / FK Borac Banja Luka (BIH) [228] Pairing 3: NK Celje (SVN) [272] / Shamrock Rovers FC (IRL) [152] Pairing 4: FC Dinamo Minsk (BLR) [331] / Lincoln Red Imps FC (GIB) [164] Pairing 5: FK Panevėžys (LTU) [293]/ Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC (ISR) [51] Pairing 6: UE Santa Coloma (AND) [297] / FC RFS (LVA) [171]
They would play the losing team from those ties and if we assume the lower ranked all lose, you'd have to say they all look beatable.

Draw has just been made [Uefa club coefficient ranking]
Europa league playoff round will be the winners of TNS/Petroclub vs the winners of Qarabag[54]/Ludogorets Razgrad[74]
Conference league playoff round will be the losers of TNS/Petroclub vs the losers of FK Panevėžys (LTU) [293]/ Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC (ISR) [51]

Petrocub are more beatable

So the most likely opening is that TNS and the Lithuanian side lose in the next round, and then TNS beat the Lithuanians. Anyone know how good this Lithuanian side / their national league is? I remember Rhyl going through against Atlantas Klaipeda years ago

They're rock bottom of the league with over 20 games played so must have lost half their squad after winning the title last season or something. TNS would surely be strong favourites.

TNS 1-0 down at half time, very unfortunate to concede a deflected effort. Petrocub have had the majority of possession but haven't created anything really. TNS have created 2 good opportunities and probably should have equalised with one of them, they've played some nice stuff on the counter
This game is certainly still up for grabs. A draw would be a great result to take home for the 2nd leg, so a goal in the 2nd half would do it

No reason TNS can't really take the game to these for the return leg and create Cymru Premier history. Just need that first goal and I have a sneaky feeling they will do it

Tns look to have thrown away their best chance at getting a European group stage. They have created absolutely nothing of note vs a side intent to sit for 90 minutes. Any chance of giving Sion Bradley a game? Surely a better option than Cieslewicz?
