Firstly: well done Montenegro, you can jump around, wave yer scarves, appeal for every tiny incident and kiss the linesman all you like- it won't change the fact that even at best you are a pub team.
Secondly: we were shocking. I can't even attribute that to tosh as we played a decent tempo, didn't mess about- we just could not produce any quality. It's hard to take any positives and I'm at a loss to where we go from here. If we can't cause Montenegro problems and create chances then we might as well pack up and go home.
I'm hoping I imagined it all and you all watched a different game. Give me some positives people!

Bale was just about the only positive. There was enough effort from the team on the whole, but in the period leading up to Montenegro's goal we were sloppy and complacent.
It's not Toshack's fault - it's the players' fault we lost this.
Also: I hate Montenegro.

Pretty good synopsis of what I saw - this was a game where points have been almost criminally spewed.
We are missing Ramsay (Vaughan not an adequate replacement at this level) I would have played Ledley and King in front on the back 4.
Earnshaw? Why?

Dreadfully dissapointing.
Is there any future with Toshack, Evans, Saunders etc in charge?
In decades of watching welsh football, this has to be one of the lowest points, if not THE lowest.
To fail to score a goal even is abysmal. The last 10 minutes we looked like headless chickens running around.
I see no hope without a change at the top

Ricketts was shocking especially in the first half! Bellamy was dissapointing.. Bale was okay i guess :/ i cant see us getting any decent results from now on :/ i dont know what to say. the formation didnt really work for us.

after watching that i doubt we ll get a point from this group gutted even tho they should have had a defender sent off they were still better than us apart from bale we looked like we had no confidence and looked nervous very worrying times for wales i m afraid

Sam Ricketts and James Collins were just abysmal. AGAIN Joe Ledley was totally anonymous, he just doesn't offer anything. Simon Church was a plus, as was Bale obviously.

We made that classic mistake - beloved of British football teams - of trying to impose a quick tempo on a team that are technically our equal. We ran about like headless chickens for 20 mins then got knackered and conceded.
Away from home 2 holding midfielders, please. Poor David Vaughan he's only little - he can't do that job on his own, bless him.
Ricketts got creamed. I can't wait until we find a left-footed left back. How's Taylor doing at Swansea? Dave Edwards hasn't played any football this season and it looked like it tonight. Normally full of energy that was his most ineffectual performance for Wales. James Collins was at fault for the goal and what a wuss for going off with that injury.
Church looked good.
We need more guile in central midfield. Get well soon Aaron.

Disappointed is the word.
Edwards and Ledley were non-existent. Hennessey needs game time. Sometimes Bellamy needs to pass the ball. A step too far too soon for Morison.
Overall, the back four were as to be expected.
We missed Davies in midfield. He can still do a job for us at least until Ramsey and Collison are back.

if im honest cant blame tosh thought montenegro were one of the dirtiest teams ive seen for along time there fullback should of gone after ten mins for the fouls on bale, the elbow on collins is a shocker and a straight red!!I think we got what we deserved ricketts is awfull time to give matthews a chance, collins bottled the challenge for the goal.BUT hey i cant wait for the bulgaria game supporting wales aint easy but atleast we can never be called glory fans lol

Disappointed is the word. Sometimes Bellamy needs to pass the ball. Yes indeed! The messiah is really just a very naughty boy. A David Giles with Tattoos always running away with the ball and away from his support. We need a team not individuals. Same with Bale on the other side he just does the running with the ball a bit better.

Seems like I was unfortunately watching the same game then.
I have to agree that the players didn't bring their A game tonight. Bellers was a real let down, always taking the wrong option, poor quality distribution. In all honesty if we were a club side and I was in charge I would have the lot of them, bar bale, up for sale tomorrow. Not for the want of trying- but not good enough. Too many of our players turn it on in nothing games against the likes of Scotland and Luxembourg yet can't produce in important games and IMO Montenegro were no better than scotland in terms of ability.
What did everyone make of Montenegros performance? We built them up something chronic and I have to say they were rotten. They are not in the same league as Serbia and their technique for a continental side was shocking. I also found them to exude a disgusting air of smugness, which is at total odds with their ability level. I really dislike them with a passion, they got away with murder all over the place.
I have to disagree with the comment earlier, I thought we played the right sort of game- if the players could have played an accurate pass, or been able to control the ball (as against luxembourg) we would have had a lot of joy as at times we stretched montenegro and they were all over the place and there for the taking at the back. But the final ball either wasn't there or it went to Bellamy and he tried to play the big man and failed. Keeping it slow and tight and passing in front of them, as we used to do, would have yielded the usual result- nothing, our passing wasn't good enough tonight and that's the players fault.

montenegro wre getting away with all kinds of foul play. so...why weren't we doing the same thing? that's match intelligence - and we had none. also, we should have been drawing more fouls and making more of them - seriously, they could have been down to nine men by 50 minutes. this team needs to grow up.

I'd rather we lose than be a team of cheats.

really?
has there ever been a winning team that didn't know how to apply match intelligence?

I cannot believe the support on here for Toshack.
I have been watching Wales since the 1960's, and was so dissapointed and dismayed following last night's abysmal performance I have created an account and posted to vent my frustration and dissapointment.
Toshak's time is gone. On Football focus today it said we had won two competitive games in six years!
Wake up and smell the coffee, we are going nowhere fast!
We need leadership to inspire the talented players we have. it is clearly not happening currently.
To moan about the referee, and 'dirty' opponents is pathetic. Everyone who has played at any level has come up against 'kicking' teams, the way to beat them is to play FOOTBALL, on the ground, pass the ball! There were occassions yesterday when player who had the ball with no one within twenty yards of them.
We were so bad, it was embarrasing, well at least I was embarrassed. The Manager and his assissttants should be embarrassed, but are they?
I believe they should take a long hard look at the progress and go now. Until they do we are wasting our time.

I'm finding that most people that were pro-Tosh have had their mind changed. We will go back even further with Tosh, we need change.

Well we've certainly won more than two. We've beaten: Northern Ireland, San Marino (twice), Slovakia, Cyprus, Azerbaijan (three times), Liechtenstein (twice). That's ten competitive wins, though most have been against lowly opposition.

Just watched the video. What was actually said was that Montenero had only won two competitive games ever, although that missed out the context that they had a very tough group last time, which was their first campaign.
The FF team also spent 7 minutes on England and about 80 seconds on Wales, when really the Welsh match was more worthy of debate given that there was an argument to be had over a potential change of manager. Savage had a good rant, though, although he suggested Coleman as a replacement for Toshack which is not very bright.

10 wins in 6 years isn't good enough. Not good enough admittedly but still a fairly respectable 30% ish win rate in competitive games.

In my eyes it's just not good enough.
We need to start expecting more. The entire nation and media are hapy fighting out for 3rd place, When we need to start aiming higher.
Anyone for pot 5? sigh...

the most dissapointing thing about the match was that feeling which we've all felt in the past...we all go into new qualifiers with renewed hope..there's always that feeling that this could be our time, players coming through etc
it more or less always ends in tears
apart from ramsey and bale the so called golden generation will fall short of our and probably their club expectations..
