I for one would rather it was a welshman and here i feel is a list of possible candidates.
Flynn - deserves the job but does he want it?
Giggs - Would e bother turning up. a big NO for me
Coleman - out of work so a strong possibility
speed & Pulis - won't leave current jobs
Jackett - done a good job at Swansea and a great job at Millwall, my second choice after Flynn
Saunders - Hopefully a non starter

Another thought - how about Rush? He's got all the badges, ok was a disaster when he tried it (was it at Chester?), but out of work. Could be worth a punt (ie he should be further up the list than Giggs, but again a lot below Flynn)

It's got to be Giggs, for me. An absolute no brainer. All the plastics will get excited (just like they did for Mark Hughes), and crowds will increase. Wales will enjoy a higher media profile because of his presence. The only question is - would he take the job at this point in time?
Flynn is doing a great job where he is - let him carry on. Give him more money and keep that production line going.

Brian Flynn would be my first choice, Brian Kerr would be my second choice with probably Coleman the third realistic choice (though I would try all possibilities, such as a move for Pulis on a part-time basis combining with his Stoke duties, and an audacious move for Martin O'Neill). Giggs wouldn't be on the shortlist at all, so it is rather worrying (though sadly, not particularly surprising) that the Welsh media seem to be championing his cause.
Giggs hardly showed 100% commitment as a Wales player. Why would it be any different as a manager? Plus, he's too quiet. Absolutely no, no, no.

Whoever it is, I think it's vital to get former players within the setup. I think Giggs needs to be involved in some degree, I'm sure he would love the chance to be involved without taking over just yet.
I'd bring Rush in too, again not as manager but I'm sure he can offer something to us.

If its Coleman it will be nothing short of a disaster.
He won't know who to support when 'we' play England!

In my opinion, unfortunately it doesn't matter who is put in charge be it Jose Mourinho or Bobby Gould we don't have enough quality players in the squad, and when i say quality i mean real quality like Bale and Ramsey, we always produce two or three real quality players every few years but it's not enough, we need about at least eight to have any chance of progressing and i don't like typing this but no manager in the world can turn us around until this happens.

How did the present management team fail to see in training in Montenegro that Ledley, Edwards and Ricketts were out-of-form? Was King worse than Edwards? I doubt it, and anyway King would have been ideal to bring on to get a goal. There's something odd about his omission. Anyway, JT, RE and DS should be given the elbow. Reports suggest that JT is to behave decently at the end. But why the delay? Flynn could step up if JT went. Is JT trying to block that? Does he want to ensure that he is succeeded by a failure, which is what Giggs would be if appointed now. JT has failed repeatedly while BF has succeeded but I don't think he's ready for the big job so I would like to see Troussier as manager. His record is excellent and he is available, apparently. BF and RG could assist and learn, to be ready to take over in 2012. The biggest failure has been by the FAW. The FAW should have issued a warning to JT when he ridiculed Savage at a press conference. JT should have been told to conduct himself like a manager. He has gone on to undermine himself by making snide comments about Hartson and Giggs. When DJ, the manager of CCFC, used innuendo against JT the FAW should have instructed their lawyers to take action against DJ. When JT invaded the CCFC training ground the FAW should have sacked him. That would have ended the problem. The FAW has failed persistently and I fear what will come next.

Im not sure about that. Recent years have seen average teams succeed because of attitude and organisation. Im sure our players COULD qualify for something. Our main problem is that none of our players produce club form at international level. Against Montenegro Bellers was a shadow of the player we saw against luxembourg, Bale was good but I have seen him player better for Spurs and as for Ledley, Collins and Edwards, Montenegro was arguably their worst games just when we needed them to produce a good performance. We do lack quality up front though, Ill give you that- we have enough in other areas of the pitch, if only our players would play to their full potential.

Agree with RD here; an on the money international coach would get this squad there or thereabouts.
but we can't afford any of the usual big(ish) names.
must be Flynn.
