Are we likely to see the likes of Danny Collins, Jason Koumas, Simon Davies, Robbie Savage, John Oster etc return to the fold?

Danny Collins- yes, Robbie Savage - maybe, Davies & Koumas - No.
Savage could well be in the frame again, in form at Derby so why not? The montenegro game proved that we are too lightweight and are bullied too easily. Whilst not exactly Roy Keane at least savage would let the opposition know we were there. Would need another DM to play alongside him though, as Pembridge did under Hughes.

Danny Collins would be a useful addition. Savage would be a good media story and provide some public interest (does anyone actually think we're going to sell out the Bulgaria game as things stand?). Simon Davies we need - though I think his retirement and his 3 year Fulham deal are probably linked. Dave Jones of Wolves might sign up if Giggs were in charge and that would be good, even though he is a tosser.

Any player that is willing to come back, I'd be delighted to have back.
We're too small a nation to not welcome then to be honest. Would all be handy to have available in my opinion.

I'd take Danny Collins back, the others have either burned their bridges or are simply not good enough anymore.

Who wants savage if we have ramsey and collison :S ?? They are too lightweight, we need someone who can put a tackle in on behalf of the others to stop physical teams like Montenegro taking the p*** against us. Allen could fulfill that role possibly, but we have yet to see him play at international level. I have this awful feeling that all England will do against us is use a brute like Huddlestone to bully Ramsey about and that will be the game won for them.

Not necessarily dewi,It may be possible that their working practice became so difficult under toshack that they felt they couldn't do their job as efficiently as they should,That is possible,We have all been in jobs where it has been made difficult by the management,So i can understand some of their views.

Good point that. And lets remember, Savage 'retired' but the decision was ultimately taken by Tosh- Savage was never going to get picked whilst Tosh was in charge after the Hungary game. The two never got on. If Savage was called up by the new man tomorrow Im sure he would play. Koumas and Davies would tell the new manager to sod off. Thats the difference imo.

why would that rat jones want a callup? with hughes as boss and giggs as a team mate he didn't - what's changed? RAT.
couldnt care less about davies and koumas - neither would have helped against montenegro.
collins? rat.
sav? two years ago, yep. but he struggles over 90minutes now, and in truth he'd be nowhere near the side.

remember who told you first----------------------------- danny collins will come back(or he will refuse a call up),things will go wrong and he will quit again.i just feel tosh was right with this one.

also.as far as im aware, dave jones' lack of availability is nothing to do with toshack so tosh going will have no affect on his decision to play for wales or not.

Wasn't there an attempt by Giggs a few years ago to get David Jones involved? Nothing to do with Toshack- I think the guy's probably just bit of a tosser.

If a player is willing to play and is needed then why not pick them? To simply say no because they "retired" is a bit stupid in my eyes.

but they're not willing to play, that's the point.
and how do you imagine the likes of bellamy and gunter would react to, say, the rat danny collins returning to the squad? i can only hope that there isnt a golf course near the Welsh training ground.
one thing we do have is a united squad - why ruin that for the sake of a couple of squad players who cry when they dont get a game?

I take back my previous comment. The benefits of having Danny Collins back don't outweigh the damage that would be caused, in terms of the long-term status of the player-management relationship, by a player taking 5 years out of international football and then walking back into the squad.
None of them should return.

None of them should return. The way James Collins defended against Montenegro has certainly left the door open for Danny Collins. Would anybody deny that he would improve the squad?

Players who have been in conflict with Toshack's ego such as Danny Collins and Robbie Savage should be considered. For me that would mean Collins back in but Savage is too old.
