That Tosh has no intention of quitting and this is just a method to get reinforcement for his battered ego from the FAW.

I would hazard a guess that it’s Thursday because Toshack - according to the ever more laughable Abandonedtomato – is off to Sofia to watch Bulgaria. They may also have decided to wait for the Under 21 result in Italy before taking the next step. Trefor Lloyd Hughes was very cagey when interviewed by the BBC today, stating that some facts were correct while others were not. The fact is though that Toshack has to step down for the good of the national team. His appointment was ten years too late. When he was appointed back in 1994 he was genuinely one of Europe’s top coaches, now he’s become a bloated past it dinosaur, out of touch with the modern game and crucially the modern players, who view him as a joke. I was at the game on Friday and he looked a broken man it has to be said as he sloped off the pitch at the end – without even acknowledging the Welsh fans. He wasn’t even his usually animated self on the touchline either, maybe a sign that he’d had enough.

The more I think of it the more convinced I am that Tosh will still have a role, perhaps as overseer, director of football or whatever you want to call it.

The only role Toshack will have is a sausage role.
