exactly saint, we need to back him,no matter the results, nobody ,without some luck can win the two games. but theres many here been asking for toshack s head for months,so lets give flynn a chance and lets hope the clowns at the fa give him the rest of the campaign, it states latest that he s assured of a faw job,but at junior level. that s no good ,let him have a good pop at this job!

totaly agree flynn needs a proper contract no matter what the next 2 results ofcourse were all desperate for us to win them both, but if we dont he has to be given the job and time to impliment his ideas to the players!Either way flynn needs the backing of all the fans.

Good to see people here saying we should back Flynn whatever the results of the next games. Whatever happens, he's still the right man for the job as far as I'm concerned. After all, what happened in Toshacks first 2 competetive games? We lost them both to a pretty average Austria if I remember rightly. There wasn't much chance of Tosh losing his job though, was there...

If Flynn loses to Bulgaria and Switzerland I want him out. He's been saying we are going to attack which is all very nice but I don't want another Bobby Gould situation where we are scoring 2 and conceding 4.

I remember Flynn teams at Wrexham - good going forward, shite at the back.

What we need right now is a knee jerk reaction to whatever the results are. 2 wins and we should give him a 10 year contract - 2 defeats and he should never be employed by the FAW ever again. We see it in all kinds of football - Best manager in the prem - Sir Alex, who worked wonders straight away and won the league and european cup in the first season. Or we could be civil and give someone time......

If the performances, tactics, passion and effort were impressive, we might still lose but the FAW ought to take them into account...no?

Well the FAW might, but I wouldn't.
It's a results business. 0 points out of 6 and I think we should be looking at someone else to do the job.

i think its fair if we lost both games then he could very well be proven to be out of his depth and then the FAW would be praised for not giving him a longr deal
becuase as his doubters are so quick to point out there is a massive gulf between u21 level and seniors

There wasn't much chance of Tosh losing his job though, was there... Agreed. However, as an aside, we were very unlucky to lose the away game out in Austria, indeed at the time I recall it was seen as being one of our best away performances in ages. Bellamy and Giggs repeatedly created chances. On Flynn, I would still give him the rest of the campaign even if we lose the next 2 games. Why? Because his consistent record over 15+ competitive under-21 games is impressive. That should be taken into account. Only if we are very poor in the two games should w lok elsewhere.

It took Flynn a bit of time to turn thing round with Wrexham, Swansea and the U21s. All were at a low ebb when he took over. I suppose if there's going to be this pressure on him to deliver stright away with these 2 games then its a good thing that he knows the players and worked with most of them before at least. Who would really be better placed and more enthusiastic about doing the job long term though?

As the last 3 have said, it takes time so everything shouldn't ride on the results of these 2 games. Agree with you caradoc that it's a results business, but I think we're (/the players) are at a pretty low ebb at the moment, if the performance against montenegro is anything to go by, so to expect even Fergie or Mourinho to come in and get 2 wins with dazzling football would be bonkers.
Flynn needs to show that he's had some impact, that there's belief in the squad, and we've got a decent footballing philosophy to take forward. If he c an show this and develop it going forward then results will follow.
Saying that though, Bulgaria appear to be in a worse state than even us at the moment, so maybe we should expect 3 points there as a minimum.

That's hardly a warning is it. Western Mail is shit-stirring. That said, this time last year Redknapp wasn't using Bale at all who as a consequence wasn't macth fit when he played for us. He can't have it both ways

given that playing for us for as longas as he has has plyed a MASSIVE part in him becoming the star he is today then twitchy cant complain also he was with us before them

and besides bale is the next giggs, Harry needs to keep bale happy or bale will say goodbye to tottenham!
no worries lads he will be there for us!

Having actually read the article, this is probably a storm in a teacup.
Nowhere in the comments does Redknapp actually mention Wales, except as a reference to Bale playing against Montengro before their game with Werder Bremen.

Pulled out once due to his grandfather's death. I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt.
Hargreaves, well I wasn't 'around' then, but I can't remember how he even qualified for us.
