I suspect the FAW only view Coleman as a stop-gap appointment. Go in, get rid of troublesome RV, put in place a new captain who doesn't rock the boat, and do your best in the forthcoming campaign. Then appoint Giggs. Hope Bellers stays for the next campaign. Absolute balderdash. And very mischievous as well. On what do you base this suspicion?

I see no evidence to suggest the FAW have any desire to get rid of Verheijen - they just didn't want him as manager. All the evidence suggests that Coleman has a free hand as to whether Ray stays or goes.
What with both being forceful personalities perhaps Coleman and Ray can evolve a relationship akin to that between Gene Hunt and Alex in Ashes to Ashes - mutual annoyance matched only by an instinctive respect that comes from recognizing a kindred spirit.

It's based upon CC's press conference yesterday when he made a special point of slapping down RV's "figurehead" comment and didn't rule out bringing in his chum Kit Symons. The FAW did the same in their preamble. Also CC's egomaniacal obsession with himself and his doing it his way schtick. It was kind of Toshack-lite, I thought. Initially I thought CC would be bonkers to get rid of Ramsey as captain but I'm not so sure after having watched the press conference. I think the FAW would breathe a huge sigh of relief if Captain Twitter was removed from his post. The FAW was prepared to poach Coleman from Greek obscurity - I'm sure he'll dance to whatever tune they play. Hope I'm wrong, though. Hope he retains RV and keeps Ramsey as captain. It's another question entirely if Ramsey actually wants to be his captain, of course. We'll see.

Coleman and Ray need to go on a massive bender together. ;D Perhaps they'll end up in Wind Street down here in the Coyote bar where two of my mates met Coleman in July when he was smashed!

This is great news if true - I reckon CC's F*cked if he doesn't do as they say. Let's hear it for player power.

that's fucking stupidity, why should coleman want to keep all the backroom staff if he's not going to be able to suit it and fit in?! maybe it worked with speed, but it might not with coleman, after the costa rica game they need to get over the tragedy of speedo and listen to what cookie's got to say, he's already said he's not going to change much at all but will tweak a few things here and there where he thinks we need to get better...Why not just get behind him and support him, cause being pricks about the appointment isn't going to do anything - Coleman wasn't my #1 choice but he's the manager now - If Bellamy quits then fuck him!

Sixth of the season tonight. Pity he's playing in a dreadful Liverpool side currently. Was not even meant to be playing regularly, but still he finds himself carrying the side with the huge amounts of cash they've spent on Carroll, Henderson, Adam etc STILL seemingly being a huge waste!

And on the front page of the telegraph they have
Bolton 3 1 Liverpool
Accompanied by a picture of Craig Bellamy.
Gerrard obviously after a decent win.

As a massive fan of Craig Bellamy he strikes me this season as trying to get every last drop out of his career before he lifts the European Championship trophy in France in 2016, he has maintained himself beyond the realms of possibility and dare I say it has taken the spotlight at times of some of Dalglish ineffective signings, hopefully he will get to Wembley in the League Cup Final but I think he has joined a club that is not going to make the Champiosn League despite a promising start to the season and Dalglish phillosphy of buying emerging English talent is back firing, although it looked good business at the time to buy Carroll who played heart and desire for Newcastle and Downing who looked promising for Villa the Bellamy signing has eclipsed them, perhaps they need to take a leaf out of his lifestyle book and how he conditions himself.

Theres something in the papers today about Dalglish accusing Liverpools players of betraying the clubs past. I actually think Dalglish himself is betraying Liverpools past by overspending on over-rated English players from other premier league clubs, when that clubs success was built on picking up bargain basement lower league diamonds, and polishing them up the Anfield way...

I'm not sure who to support in the league cup final... Normally it would be Cardiff as both the Welsh club and the underdog, but Bellamy is such a legend of Welsh football.... I'm not sure even Cardiff fans would be tooooo unhappy to see him win a major trophy at last...

Great goal tonight Mind you he must be torn in two, either winning his first trophy or his home town team winning the cup. I think that he will prefer the former.

hes an outstanding player, its the work off the ball that unless you've seen him play in the flesh (as we all have over the years) goes unnoticed,he covers each blade of grass on that pitch during a match, amazing energy levels and a massive desire to win
in the last few years we've seen more focus from him,i wouldnt go as far as say he's wasted a vast amount of his career away moving from club to club and having bust up after bust up but i do get the feeling he could have achieved so much more than he has done if hadnt of shot himself in the foot at times
he's certainly playing like a man on a mission, trying to right a few wrongs before his knee finally gives way

Flynnfan, you can't slag off the Arsenal loving c**** in the Welsh media and welsh public when Swansea spank them and then say you wouldn't mind if Liverpool beat Cardiff in the final. That just doesn't make sense. I know plenty of people in South Wales and especially Cardiff who glorify Liverpool and wearing their red shirts. I wonder how they will be feeling deep down inside as their beloved 'Scousers' are lining up against the city of their birth at Wembley Stadium? Will they be sat in their Cardiff pubs cheering on the English city against their home town? . If they do they should be ashamed of themselves. The spin offs of a Cardiff win will only benefit Welsh football and more importantly Cardiff's youth development. By the way Scouse fans, Cardiff City have played Liverpool 29 times and won 18. Liverpool have won 9.

When Bellamy first joined Liverpool he spoke about it being his boyhood team and a life's ambition being fulfilled. I have no doubt he has fondness for Cardiff City but I suspect they come a close second in his loyalties to Liverpool

Liverpool have won 9. Agreed! All it would need then is for Swans to survive and Cardiff to get Promoted this season to complete a huge turnaround in the space of five years and tbh it has been a huge turnaround, Cardiff getting to Wembley three occasions and Cup runners up and the Swans winning Promotion twice!

If there is a way for Cardiff to win the cup and not go on to represent The FA in Europe then best of luck to them. But the moment a Welsh team is officially allowed into Europe via the inglish system then that is the first nail in the coffin of Welsh football.
We'll see the sheikhs and the yanks coming in for Swansea knowing that CL footie is a possibility, the Malaysians will up their investment knowing their club has real value. The inglish fans and inglish clubs need to put a stop to this now. It's time they stood up for themselves and said enough is enough.

Yeah, I'm sure when the game comes round I'll be supporting Cardiff, but I was buzzing following Bellamys performance, and it struck me that if Mcnaughton is fit to play instead of Blake, there will be now Welshmen in the Bluebirds starting line up for the final! (until Turner declares for Wales I'll have to still think of him as English) So Liverpool will almost certainly have a Welshman in their side and Cardiff will have 0.

I think Darcy Blake was also a Cardiff AND Liverpool fan growing up. So there could be one on both sides! Hopefully, with the Bluebirds recent success, such dual fans will become a dying breed.
