There are an alarming amount of Welsh people who are putting the name of Lawrie Sanchez into the hat to be the next Welsh Manager along with the likes of Dean Saunders and Chris Coleman. Martin O'Neill I have no problem with. But can anyone tell me why we should appoint the likes of Deano and Coleman, Sanchez infront of Flynn? Logic................
Terry Yorath was long ball stuff and we fell short. Mark Hughes didn't have tactics, can anyone define sparky's tactics for Wales? Where as Flynn plays a game where the defenders impose themselves on the halfway and beyond and zip the ball along until they open a gap. I love it and it would be a tradgedy for Welsh Football if Flynny didnt get the job. U 21 prediction Italy 2-2 Wales

Saunders - no, his record speaks for itself! Coleman - no, record better than Saunders but still yet to convince me. Flynn - Fantastic job at U-21s. If he is ever going to get the job now is the time. Sanchez - Similar record to Flynn but with proven international managerial experience. Would not rule out. Jackett - Done an excellent job at Millwall. Would be an excellent choice. O'Neill - I wish! Giggs, Speed, Rush, Hartson - No real experience could be in as a Coach/Number 2? Savage - Never, ever again. Anybody who thinks this guy should be near a Wales squad again has obviously not seen his recent displays for Derby. Makes Robinson and Fletcher look like speed merchants!

Quetzal - sparky's tactics - 4-1-4-1 / 4-1-2-3 / 4-5-1 - depending on circumstance in the game. Worked a treat as he used the system that was about to become "in vogue" just prior to it, so teams weren't used to defend against it. Then on the right the combination of Delaney / Davies/ Bellamy was lethal, especially given that most attention was on defending the left against the threat of Giggs.
As soon as we got a few results I think teams cottoned on, and it was also crucial on Pembridge and Hartson as they were lynchpins to it - so again fell appart when both were injured / too old.
Sav was great in that system as he had Pembo behind him and the freedom to run around like a headless chicken - Sparky's problem was he tried to use the same system when the players were unavailable - so he tried Sav in Pembo's role - lethal.
Show's that he had tactictal awarenes, but the downside was he didn't have the experience to change things around and recognise when things were going wrong.
