I get the feeling that nothing new will be announced tomorrow. Just that tosh intends to quit and not that he actually has quit.

Yeah, probs. Which would be unsatisfactory. How are the team supposed to be inspired by someone they know is on his way out? Somebody who can't do any more with them?
If they can't get Giggs in the short term then they need to install Flynn as caretaker IMMEDIATELY.

Apparently Kenny Jackett has become hot favourite to take over the job. The odds on him have shortened dramatically. Not very inspiring choice if this turns out to be true.

I guarantee you, Tosh will be in charge for the double header.
Its ridiculous and its wrong, but I suspect the FAW are as usual in no hurry. At the beginning of the week when the story broke the FAW said they would make a statement either later that day or sometime in the week. So the cat is out of the bag and everyone knows the manager is quitting- no rush then lads in giving people the official version of events!
Surely that man Ford should have been all over this putting on a good PR front? No, they cant even be arsed to come up with a response to the news until the end of the week. And even then we suspect they will just say what everybody already knows. Pathetic.
Its difficult to sum up just how messed up our whole infrastructure is. The people at the top dont care if we win or lose- too many of us are criticising Toshack, when are the media going to start pointing the finger at the FAW and asking what they do for the Welsh national team bar going on jollies to UEFA draws and concocting complicated money making schemes for ticket applications. Managers come and go yet failure and the FAW remain constant. They appointed Bobby Gould- that shows how much they care about Welsh football!!
They never answer our emails. They are un accountable and totally disconnected from the real world and we need change. Sod the coaching set up, lets get some former players involved in the FAW council. Look at Boris Mihailov, president of the Bulgarian FA.
Im really quite angry at the moment as it would be nice to see some clear direction and leadership while we still have something to salvage from this campaign and yet all we get is press conferences ages after the fact and rumours that they are interested in candidates who are totally unsuitable when there is a perfectly able man currently working with the under 21s but who doesnt have the big time charlie reputation of a Giggs, Coleman or a Toshack.

Im fed up. I wish I could switch nationalities because I cant see us progressing while the current council members are in charge. I just want to see us at a finals and be respected at football. How will that ever happen under the current infrastructure?

I really don't see the point of Toshack staying on for the October double header, especially with the U21s out of the play offs and Flynn available to take charge. When Mark Hughes stayed on for the games v England and Poland it was a disaster. The FAW needs to learn from that mistake and act desicevely on this one. We still have a chance of a play off spot in this group. I fear keeping Tosh on for those two games would ruin it.

I fear that the intention is to ensure Flynn doesn't get the top job, and Toshack may be the conspirator. JT wants to be succeeded by a failure so that his own failure is masked.

Thats all a bit cloak and dagger yrarg, but then I (unfortunately) think you might have a point. Does Tosh's huge ego beat his sense of patriotism? The press have come out saying he'll recommend Giggs for the top job, so maybe? (or it could just be more western fail bollix) Surely, SURELY Toshack can see Flynn is the best man for the job? Or is he really afraid of being shown up?

We should seek donations for a statue to JT to be erected in Cardiff - a triptych - an orifice flanked by two bulbous buttocks.

storm has pretty much got it in one, the FAW are awful at best
however ford so far hasnt done much wrong free flags at the sweden game, very very cheap tickets for luxembourg game and was prepared to host england game at the CCFC stadium to give us the best chance of winning ok the first two are nothing special but its a start
plus his hands are pretty much tied if he wants to do something and everybody else on the board say no we will do it the boring crappy unbenificial way (which is what ahppends) then he is up against a brick wall

Delayed until 1.30 apparently... Typical. Couldn't hold a chimps tea party in a zoo that lot. I really really really hope Flynn is announced at toshs successor, hopefully only in the short term initially so he has some pressure on to produce results. But I know tosh will be in charge for the double header as the faw as usual are in no rush. It's just so wrong. And it will be Coleman eventually. He wouldn't touch the job when he was at Coventry and now he's out of work he will love it and then if he succeeds (which I doubt) he will do a Hughes and bugger off mid campaign. The reason it has to be flynn is that he is the only man on the planet who would leave his club job to manage wales.

If Toshack remains in charge for the double header it will be a shambles.
He's going soon and everyone knows it. How will that make the players and fans feel? And how will Tosh motivate himself to coach for those games?
I suppose the FAW will argue they need time to appoint a successor, but really, what's there to think about? Flynn is now free as a bird. Give him the job until the end of the current campaign, then, at the end, if they are so obsessed with getting their beloved Giggs in the role, and Flynn has not succeeded, they can appoint Giggs and give him some friendlies to learn his craft.
It's as clear as day what they need to do, and it'll be laughable if Toshack stays on.
Just to add - I've nothing against Tosh. I think he has givenhis all at the job and respect him greatly for his brave decision to step down. It seems to me he wants to go, but the FAW won't let him. ****ing twats.

Need running commentary from you lot, no speakers in work. So he's actually gone? He talked through results, about how this time round critics are saying we have started with ANOTHER defeat and then tried to make out we had a decent start last time by beating Azerbaijan followed by an unlucky defeat to Russia. He then explained that after the Denmark game the FAW approached him about a new contract! Hes making excuses about injuries. Hes making excuses about bad luck- hitting the bar against Montenegro, if we had got a result he would have stayed on. He felt that if we dont get a result in the next two games he felt that would be better with him in charge. He taunted the press by saying that he hoped that they could see that the current team is not division 3 standard "like some of you lot think". He was very disappointed in the turn out for the Croatia game as he felt that croatias style was a good warm up for the montenegro game. It looks like he was given the boot this morning. The FAW have acted!

Good. As I said I've no axe to grind with Toshack but we need to move forward.
I just hope that, for once, the FAW do something good and appoint Flynn.
I am worried that it seems to be taking so long - it should be a very simple decision.

Tosh: "If Wales are going to lose these next two games it would have been better for that to happen with me as manager."
What a ridiculous thing to say!
