... Has been heavily backed for the Wales job by punters today. Now 5/2 favourite, down from 20/1 this morning.

we can get far better managers. however there are alot of worse options on that shortlist.
id be reasonably happy with jackett
like alot of our player he was not born in wales but played for us. he could have words of wisdom form his experience to fire some passion in them

Hes a shrewd operator. Id be happy enough with that in principle as we could do far worse.
Its all very well saying that the big name players might not look up to him but no player is bigger than the team. They will have to man up and get on it.
Im sure the players wont have any problem with whoever it is (bar Saunders) as Im sure they will just be glad to see the back of Tosh.

Edit: Scratch that.
According to Hills its a small market so Jackett in as 3rd favourite is largely down to one punter putting a sizeable sum on it.
After some digging about the smart money appears to be on Coleman, the man who referred to England as "we" during the world cup. God help us if thats true.

I just googled Jackett to see if there were any current stories re the Welsh job. I came across some positive articles, particularly one from Millwall just after he took over there, 2008. It said he transformed the club after just a week!!!!
Don't we need this? In fact he's got a whole month. Bulgaria watch out, lol.

Croydon Athletic ;D At 22/1 if the punter suspected they could shift the market then they could lay it off on betfair for a decent profit so there is likely nothing in it.

No offence to Jackett, but what can he offer us that Flynn wouldn't? It has to be Flynn.

I don't have a problem with Jackett. He's got a good record as a manager. But, why exactly would he be a better choice than Flynn? Doesn't make much sense to me. Plus, the FAW would have to pay compo to Millwall. How exactly can they afford that? And even if they do have a spare couple of hundred grand in the kitty, do we really want that money (our money really- tickets. membership, merchandise etc) to be spent by going into the hands of Millwall football club? I don't. I'd much rather it went on building more floodlit all weather pitches in Wales, training more coaches to a higher standard etc...

And after seeing the way some players have performed over his reign it was clear at times that they were not playing for the manager. The younger ones probably were but some of the seniors always looked frightened when playing for wales. It will be interesting to see how much performance picks up once he leaves.

think jackett could be the modern day terry yorath, go motivator and has a well drilled oragnised team. he has done well with millwall but is the wales job a step too far?

Nobody wants it apart from out of work managers. Coleman wouldnt even want it unless he were in a job. Just give it to Flynn, at least he actually wants to do it.

Think some big bets went on Jackett- bookies will be relived he's made it pretty clear he's not interested at this point.
