With Manchester City being limited by the number of overseas players for the premiership (17) and champions league (16), this could mean Hus getting a place in the squad.
Hopefully this does not mean a place on the bench.

Huws apparently had a rusty first pre-season game in Dundee last week but followed it up with an impressive showing against Hearts. Very positive comments on the blue moon forum. for example: "I remember seeing Huws get a game under Mancini and thought he looked good then but today he looked superb. He has bulked up and developed a great fast game that will fit in with our first XI instantly. I think now Pellegrini has a title under his belt he'll be more supportive of youngsters this season and this guy has to be first on the list." I would have him over Ledley in the middle of the park. Ledley on the bench. It's just a no brainer for me. I don't care its 'only Hearts' - there is enough evidence from Patrick Viera's comments, Lee Clark and now at Man City that he is top class. It frustrated me that Ledley got the nod in the Netherlands friendly. I hope Coleman and his team take a few chances now instead of playing it safe - it cost us under sparky's reign. Winners take chances. Thread below. forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=303674&sid=53a730d72dfce7a611e9baa14bbdb14c&start=210

Huws will be a very good player but as it is, with him not playing first team football and Ledley a first team starter at Palace, it's Ledley for me. Huws was impressive in the Iceland game but didn't have the same effect in the Netherlands game, although he didn't have too much time to show what he's about. Ledley is a very consistent player, he might not be Xavi or Yaya but he will give you a fair performance every game, all in my opinion.

Yeah, while I think/hope Huws will turn out a better player than Ledley, until he is proving it by playing regular prem level, then the shirt's Ledley's AFAIC. Ledley was actually excellent for Palace towards the end of last season, best I've seen him for years. Besides, Coleman is a loyalist - he's going to rely on the committed old heads like Ledley and Gunter, even if they have other players knocking on the door.

What if huws breaks into the man city first team this autumn? If he broke into the team and was playing ahead of Toure, Fernandinho or Garcia he would be straight into the starting line up for me. I'm praying he turns into our Patrick Viera and with a foundation of him, Ramsey and Allen we could do extremely well. Is anyone thinking WC champions 2018 or am I being a little optimistic

What Coleman needs to be is a man manager, not a loyalist. He must select the form players whether they are old or young.

Why should we doubt him when everyone else raves about him. Fernadinho looked good in patches in the world cup but poor at other times. Why shouldn't our lad break through? Is paulinho better than ramsey?

I totally agree with Baresi: ''I hope Coleman and his team take a few chances now instead of playing it safe - it cost us under sparky's reign. Winners take chances.''
I remember seeing Earnie playing on the wing instead of in a 4-4-2 with Hartson and thinking WTF! I think we have seen enough of the kids to realise that the ability is there and they should play at the expense of Church Gunter and Easter. At the home games we have to be aiming for 3 points even against Belgium and Bosnia. If we play for a draw at home, trouble beckons.

This is a good & exciting move. Regular football at a decent level and with an excellent club & manager.

Great choice for the first half of the season. Couldn't pick a better championship club for him to go to. Hopefully he'll get a premier league loan in January.

And how long between when giggs first emerged and ramsey and bale emerging? Around 20 years.

I'm a bit gutted he didn't go on loan to a prem side such as Swansea or maybe even Everton? But I guess Wigan is a good footballing side and it's only 6 months so yeah all good. Hopefully he can boss the midfield for Wigan and really show what he's all about.

I am disappointed too if he is loaned again to a championship club but he trying to break into the first team of one of the richest clubs in the world....and I am sure he will succeed. Ledley has had several campaigns for wales now and is quite technically accomplished but ultimately limited at the highest level. He is not going to take us over the line. Huws has an assurance and presence and a hell of a left foot and for me, that is my logic. Its not blind optmism.

Another 6 months with a good team and a good manager playing good football will show how good Huws really is!
I believe!

Good news for young Emyr Huws. Should get a very good amount of game time under UWE Rosler and will keep him on his toes for playing any Welsh games also.
Good news all round!

I don't really think his career path is going that well. He is 21 soon - hardly a kid anymore. If he is as talented as many think, then he should be playing on a regular basis for a premiership team by now.
To be loaned out to a championship club again is not great. I am very skeptical he will ever get in the City team given how easily they are prepared to let him go. I am a bit concerned he is wasting time during a critical stage in his development at City.

At least he is getting game time and not sat on the bench. It would have been better if he had been loaned to a PL club

Said it before: Man City is the worst club in Britain to be at for a young player. Their academy might be good but you'd need to be the next Pele to get a run in the first team. It's great he's on loan at Wigan, we need him playing games. Sooner he leaves City permanently the better.

Maybe its what Owen did at the 98 world cup, or perhaps Rooneys teenage performances but everyone seems to expect players to be the finished article at 20 these days. Gazza was 23 when he 'came of age' at the 1990 world cup, Linekar didn'T even make his debut till he was 24! and went on to be Englands 2nd top scorer of all time. Lets just give Huws a couple more seasons before making too many judgements eh?

So Man City shipped Rodwell on to Sunderland on a permanent deal. Huws played a cameo against AC Milan recently in recent a pre-season friendly in the states www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sq5xW3u0zY&feature=youtu.beThe American commentator apparently said when he cam on, "This is Emyr Huws from Welsh" Man City won 5-1.

I think Wigan is a poor move as it is the same level as he played last season.
At 21 he needs to be progressing and he should ideally be playing in the EPL.
Personally, I was not as impressed as most of you with his performance against Iceland and for me he has a lot to prove before he starts getting picked ahead of Ledley.
That being said the lad does have ability and I do believe come the second half of this qualifying campaign he will be very close to being a regular starter. Hopefully we will at this stage have something to play for

Manchester City's high regard for Uwe Rosler's ability as a coach is another and he will play Emyr game in game out in his prefered positions. As a trio with McManaman and Maloney I expect this to be the dominant championship midfield this season and Wigan a good bet for promotion.

Yeah, I think its a decent move for him. He needs to prove he can put a run of 20 or so games together without getting injured next.

Playing from the start for Wigan. Yeah. Apparently he looks like an exciting prospect for the Championship. According to Matt Murray. Must be having a good game so far!!
