Would like to hear more from Steelrod - not been on any Man City forums - but interested if anything is being said lately about Huws.
I think that he would thrive at somewhere like Everton with Martinez as manager. Would play brilliantly with Ross Barkley.

Gareth Barry is not getting any younger and Huws would get more game time there. He is already 20 and it is time to get some game time. he reminded me of michael carrick but with a much higher ceiling and much more assured than carrick was at 20.

If he is not going to get selected for a game which is already won then he needs to get out on loan and fast, Swansea were looking at signing that t**t Rhys Williams from Boro, surely Huws on loan would be a better option.
If not he needs to go to a championship club sharpish, at 20 you need to be playing games

If not he needs to go to a championship club sharpish, at 20 you need to be playing games Williams has played about 150 first team games including internationals and has captained a club at Championship level. Huws has played 15 minutes of first team football. Huws might well become the better player but Laudrup needs someone now to cover injuries not in a year or two.

Agree to a point but Williams is not a proven premiership player and has played most of his games at centre half.
His total disregard for welsh football should mean any welsh club think twice before signing him, although I do know neither Swansea or Cardiff give a shit about welsh football.

I meant to add, how close do you think he would be to the Man City team if he was there?

Agree with a lot of the comments here, and empathise with the Carrick comparison although in my view Huws is a step more multi dimensional, and has got distinctive game breaking qualities. He's a superb athlete, strong, powerful and fast. Two footed too. He's the best Welsh prospect I've see since Bale and Ramsey broke through, and will quite possibly overtake the latter. I'm also pretty sure he's not going end up at Oldham. As for the Bluemoon site, he seems to be getting positive feedback, apart from the usual assenine "sheep shagging stuff." They seem genuinely pleased that a potentially top UK player has emerged through their youth system. The other very promising and soon to break through young player there is Lopes who is Portugese/Brazilian. They've also got a superb young English full back called Shay Facey. Last point. The average age for players making their Premiership debuts is 23. Huws is just 20. Expect him to go out on loan for the rest of this season, possibly to a championship club and within this window. Sensibly Coleman will then give him his first cap in the forthcoming Iceland friendly in March.

I would not pick him for the Iceland game, he should be with the U21s
He does however, need to go out on loan, maybe he should change his name to something foreign and then clubs will be fighting to sign him

Good news. Hopefully he will get plenty of game time, and glowing reports.

My gut instinct is that this is a very good move for Huws and Birmingham. I think Lee Clark would be a good manager for him.
Will be an interesting month.

Yes, I expect Huws to do well there. It looks as if he's going straight in on Saturday against Derby at St Andrews too. This is on top of his man of the match performance for Man City U21's against Man Utd U21's in their 2-1 away win, where he totally bossed a midfield stacked with some of Europe's best young players.

Just what he needed, hope it goes really well for him.
If he and Wilson come through I can see really exciting times ahead for us

MOM on his Birmingham debut as a defensive midfielder. Made 9 tackles (6 more than anyone else on the pitch). Most of Birmingham's build up play went through him. Had 81 touches the next highest Brum player being Caddis with 56 touches.

I tweeted with a couple of Birmingham fans and it appears that he made a big impression!
Between him & Vokes for Welsh player of the weekend!

Had 81 touches the next highest Brum player being Caddis with 56 touches. It would be fantastic if he can feature in the Euro 2016 campaign. Maybe if this loan spell is successful then Birmingham/another Championship or lower Premier League team might try and get him on a loan for a longer period.

An excellent article. I am really excited about this. Has anyone watched the interview with Birmingham. It is on youtube and was recorded prior to his debut. He has lost his Llanelli accent & I tweeted a link. Also wondered if he has done an interview in Welsh? I have not heard one from him but I have suggested to Garry Owen that he may wish to have one and he responded positively

Huws is just 20. Expect him to go out on loan for the rest of this season, possibly to a championship club and within this window. Sensibly Coleman will then give him his first cap in the forthcoming Iceland friendly in March. There has been Mystic Trendy before other comes around, it's Mystic Rod!

Hmmmm....More like common sense. I don't think Coleman will cap Huws against Iceland now, as they'll want him for the U21's qualifier against England. Lets try some mysticism though? Here goes..... Expect to see Coleman at The Valley on Saturday for Charlton v Birmingham. Three Wales squad members likely to be on parade. Huws, Church and Wiggins.

I'd absolutely rather see him capped for the full side than play for the U21s.
