Personally I'm glad that he's included Joe Allen.
Is Morgan injured or dropped?

No Morgan, Cotterill or Blake? I won't criticise though, I have too much faith in Flynn! Allen, King and Robson-Kanu to be surprise starters.....

No Cardiff players. DJ will be happy. I'm surprised by the exclusion of Blake.
It looks like a solid, if unspectacular squad.

7000 tickets sold so far according to DS....only a week to go, I'd like to think we'd double that before kick off but still poor.

Don't think Flynn will inspire the plastics; and the Bellamy factor has gone a bit flat with his injury. I don't think we'll get much more than 10K.

darcy blake isnt good enough to get into that squad yet, in time mabe. cotteril, maybe injured? morgan ? i guess flynn just hasnt picked him as we have loads of defenders in there.
GUYS dont be majorly suprised when one WELSH regular isnt in the squad. if anything its a good thing, i mean look at the quality players that never get in the england squad.
shame tho as we have tossers like koumas who when their not picked say fuck you im retiring, you dont see beckham / joe cole doing that.

The squad will also be at the FAW awards dinner on Monday evening. Well, I would have left Stock and taken Crofts- not that it matters, as neither will or would feature barring a host of injuries. Obviously, I would have chosen Neil Taylor over Collins, but he is likely to step in when Collins has his wedding/bah mitzvah/car boot sale to go to. Would like to have had Cotterill in with Bellamy out, but I know he has some sort of injury. On the whole, not bad. - Just noticed the Blake omission- a strange one, though, as ever, probably not helped by Dave Jones.

Blake is good enough to get into the Wales squad. I've seen him more than you, and he is certainly up there - his injury problems this season are probably being taken into account. Also did I imagine rave reviews for Ricketts playing centre back and man-marking Rooney out of last weekends game? Actually I probably did dream that. And how on earth can you compare us to England???

David Cotterill is unlucky not to be in - is Robson-Kanu better at the moment?
I think Blake is unlucky not to get ahead of Ribeiro.
I've squirmed before when Andrew Crofts has been included in the squad when playing for a Division 2 team. But he's in form playing for a team in form. With Stock not having a great time at Doncaster at the moment, and with us not having that many holding midfielders, I would have gone for Crofts.
Still no shocks or surprises.
Shame that Simon Davies is continuing to let Wales down.

Hennessey
Gunter Williams Collins Collins
King Ledley
Edwards Allen Bale
Evans Church

Wales are an international football team the same as England, and when we dont have a player in the squad, it actually means its a good thing, it means we can leave out a player like blake who is one for the future, and still have enough in this squad. That obviously bolds well for the future. Its terrible when every month the wales squad picks it self, nice to have some competitivness to actually just even get in the wales squad, that is a good sign for the future.
Hoepfully they will play better in their respected leagues to push flynns 23 man squad every international then.

Odd. Bond and Cornell are by my reckoning our 7th and 8th ranked goalies. What message is Flynn sending to Price, fon Williams, Brown and Taylor? He'd better pray Hennesey and Myhill don't get injured.

No Blake, Cotterill, Crofts, Nyatanga or Morgan. Crofts is playing well but Stock isn't getting picked. Reading picked Kanu ahead of Church and he played very well but didn't score. Church subbed and promply scored. Morgan is the oddest omission.

Mate. The only person who ranks our keepers, is whoever is the manager and picks the team, have a bit of respect for this cornell guy etc, he's probably young etc?

"probably young". Don't you know? Cornell dob 28-3-1991. Bond dob 19-5-1993. Neither first team selections for their clubs.

A bit suprised by the exclusions of Morgan, Blake, N Tayor, Cotterill and Crofts and by the inclusions of the two young keepers and Stock.
With Morgan it could be down to the numbers of defenders who are currently playing well at a higher level (I think we had 6 defenders play in the prem last weekend and Williams, Gunter and Ribiero are playing at championship clubs who are doing a lot better than Preston. PNE have leaked goals left, right and centre so far this season and Morgan hasn't always been in the starting line up. Ribiero oozes class- he's a future premiership player if his injuriy problems don't restrict him too much. Morgan is probably curently playing at the highest level he ever will. Also, I wonder if its a slightly symbolic move? Morgan was always in Toshacks squads- I applaud Flynn for shaking things up a bit.
Blake and Taylor are both a bit unlucky considering their club form. Their time will come though. Taylor might possibly be paying for his mistake against Italy U21 recently.
Cotterill is injured I think, so that might be why he was left out?
Crofts I thought would have been in there ahead of Stock because Stock has only just come back from another injury. I don't really rate either though, and its not so important as I doubt Stock will play- Flynn is much more likely to look to Allen and King I would have thought.

Nyatanga not being in the squad is a surprise. Blake also left out which I didn't expect.
As I've said before, I'd have picked Eastwood over Evans, because Ched has never done anything for Wales except at under-21 level.

If you take issue with so many of the posters on here and swear so much, why do you keep posting on here?
RE the squad, I think Blake's been unlucky, but the defence looks strong now. It will be interesting to see if Gabbs plays at centre back on Saturday. If so, he's in for me.
Anyway, this is my possible team out of that squad:
Myhill
Gunter Collins Gabbidon Collins
Edwards Vaughan King Bale
Church Robson-Kanu
Bench: Hennessey, Ricketts, Williams, Allen, Ledley, Earnie, Ched

I think Gabbidon will play left back again for WHU. He's played there the last 2 games. Da Costa and Upson have formed a decent partnership at center half. So if he plays LB again for WHU this weekend, would you play him there for Wales? Or more importantly, will Flynn?

news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/league_of_wales/9053486.stmOK, so he gets himself into a wee bit of a muddle over Bellamy, but other than that I love the interview. His obvious knowledge, dedication, enthusiasm and positivity come shining through once more. Such a contrast- not only to Toshack, but also to the interviewer! ("the u21 players like Ribiero and ..er....er..") !!
