In a bar at the moment and they are showing Italy women v Portugal women. Italy (home team) have just been awarded a goal which clearly didn't cross the line in pretty much the same way that Wales (away team) weren't given a goal in England when I think even the English said it had crossed the line.

This is the push I needed to get into women's football. Being completely honest, I just haven't been able to get into it, nor have I made the effort to, but our women's team are doing the country proud right now and will be turning a lot of heads. It's great to see, really.

I'd like to see the England game brought up North. Women's football in Wales seems to be gaining more interest than ever, we should strike the iron while it's hot and spread that interest over the whole of Wales. That's if Wrexham don't have a home fixture that day... Agree with you completely.
Living in Cardiff, I'd love it to be at the CCS and I have already kept Friday 31 August 2018 free in my diary, but I feel that with City in the PL, we will not get a lot more than 5k down South ;-(
I would love to be proven wrong!

Amazing from the women’s team, 6 matches in and no goals conceded it crazy!
It’s good to see Wales teams all across the board achieving success. Definitely makes me think as a footballing nation we’re going in the right direction. Hopefully we can sell out the matches to inspire more girls to take on football and inspire young boys to accept girls as equals on the pitch.
If I’m being honest I think the line up picture has got out of hand, what started as a subtle joke is becoming cringeworthy. I thought it was funny when it was uneven numbers or someone positioned wrong, having the whole team 20 yards apart is just taking it completely too far.

Fantastic achievement by the women's team so far. Trouble is, they could beat Russia, draw with England, and so finish the group unbeaten and potentially without conceding a goal - and still fail to make the play-offs... Pretty much all of the groups have two dominant teams, and only 4 out of 7 runners-up make the play-offs. So the Russia game is pretty much a must win, because realistically Wales women are not going to beat England.
The women could eclipse the men in terms of hard luck stories - and that's no mean achievement.

On the flip side they have only scored 4 goaLs in 6 games.
If that was another team we would say they don't deserve to qualify.

Points are the be all and end all. I’d rather they scraped 1-0 than drew 1-1 trying to prove themselves worthy. Sure they might not qualify still but they’ve done well.

I agree that have done really well. The problem is nobody really cares.
They need to start creating some revenue to cover some of the large amount of money being spent on them.
I would love to know how much they generate compared to how much they spend

I would love to know how much they generate compared to how much they spend Christ, if we'd applied this logic to the Wales men's team, the FAW would have stopped funding them completely between 1994 and 2000! The men have had plenty of sub-5k attendances over the past 30 years. I don't think it's a case that no-one cares - I think it's more that there's only a small overlap between the men's and women's teams, hence not much interest on here. This team is building a new fan base - girls and young women who support Wales in the men's game, but perhaps don't see any role models for them. It's a different approach to - the way the men's team is marketed - rotating games between Bangor, Haverfordwest, Swansea, Treforest, Newport, Cardiff, trying to encourage local schools and clubs to come along and watch. This is the first campaign where more than two Wales matches have been shown on live TV, the first time a run of consecutive matches have been broadcast. The first time the wider Welsh public have had a chance to see the team regularly live on TV. If we beat Russia, let's see how much interest there is then.

The money spent on the men's team has always been generated by the men's team The fact is the women need to start generating some income as they have all the best facilities etc. which cost a lot For what it's worth I think this will start to happen if we beat Russia but even more so if we qualify and I really hope it does. We have recently set up girls teams and have around 70 each week so any role models for the would be great For all her caps I don't think many would know who Jess Fishlock was if she turned up to train them. Hope they win tomorrow

Massive own goal playing at Spytty Park
Effectively the biggest game in Welsh woman's football restricted to 1200 people. If it has to be Newport why not Rodney parade?

Great performance second half, didn't look like scoring first half but could get as many tonight as the rest of the campaign.
Well done ladies
Principality for the England game 😙

Fantastic performance. What a battling spirit and a never give in attitude. Fighting for every ball up until the 95th minute. I just hope some of our boys saw the match and thought of what might have been, if they did the same in our Serbia and Georgia matches 18 months ago...
Anyway, I just hope that the england match is at the Racecourse, as we should fill that out easily! I fear if we try to play the match at the CCS, the english will outnumber us ;-(

Massive own goal playing at Spytty Park Effectively the biggest game in Welsh woman's football restricted to 1200 people. If it has to be Newport why not Rodney parade? WRU wouldn't make Rodney parade available - I think the pitch is being re-laid. Every other stadium with a bigger seating capacity was unavailable due to stadium gigs. Anyway it was a brilliant atmosphere tonight - best home atmosphere of the campaign.

Its looks like the Scotland ladies have managed to come back from 2-0 down to Poland away, to beat them 3-2 in the dying minutes.
Could this result be the difference if we fail to beat England ...

FAW seem to have made great strides in the women’s game. Is the women’s National rugby game just based on who’s playing in the University teams? They never really seem to pull it off

To be fair you can see the scenario now, 1_0 up with a minute to go and Ingerlund equalise.
Watching Wales has made me a very pessamistic person!!!

Impressed by the quality an talent in the last 2 games an if I’m honest 1st time I’ve properly watched women’s football gonna look to get tickets to go watch the England game if able to an hope they get a big crowd. Be good if as many of the men’s senior squad an giggs attended if able to as a boost to them. This welsh women’s team has passion in abundance for the shirt, great to see.

Yeah that Scotland comeback could be crucial in the race for the best 4 runners-up. Let's hope it doesn't matter and we win the group.

I think Wales are already there because lots of the other 2nd placed teams have to play top of the table and bottom. All the runners up records against bottom team won’t count. All bottom teams have been thrashed basically. I think Wales squeeze through as one of the best runner ups. These two games against Russia and Bosnia were massive. So Wales already through. You heard it here first.
