I think Wales are already there because lots of the other 2nd placed teams have to play top of the table and bottom. All the runners up records against bottom team won’t count. All bottom teams have been thrashed basically. I think Wales squeeze through as one of the best runner ups. These two games against Russia and Bosnia were massive. So Wales already through. You heard it here first. No, we need at least a point more. Either Switzerland or Scotland in group 2 will reach 12 points in the games against 1st, 3rd and 4th. Groups 3, 4 & 5 already have two teams who have reached the 12-point mark. We have 11 points from the games with England, Russia and Kazakhstan. So we need at least a point to have any chance. Difficult to work it out beyond that point as GD will kick in.

A current ranking of 2nd place teams can be found here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_FIFA_Women%27s_World_Cup_qualificationIt seems unlikely that we'll qualify as best placed runners up. We'll have to win the group or go through in the play offs to qualify.

Massive own goal playing at Spytty Park Effectively the biggest game in Welsh woman's football restricted to 1200 people. If it has to be Newport why not Rodney parade? They should have the England game up in Wrexham. There'd be a very decent turnout and the North hasn't seen a game this campaign. Newport, Swansea and Cardiff have.

It'll be available in August.

Last week I said only Cardiff City Stadium would be big enough to meet demand for a group decider with England.
However it's clear that Jayne Ludlow and Jonathan Ford see the priority as finding a venue where Wales will feel as at comfortable as possible. Playing at CCS would allow a significant number of England fans to attend, perhaps reducing home advantage.
The exposure and money we'd get from qualifying would dwarf gate receipts from the CCS.
On the Wrexham issue, Wales have been based in Newport for this campaign, so I guess it depends whether Ludlow would what to uproot them, given Wales have won 3 out of 3 at home.

The first half last night was terrible, but second half it was like watching a totally different team. What an awesome result, and it looks like both men and women's football have a bright future in Wales.
The England game needs to be in Wrexham though and from what I have seen, it doesn't make a difference to the women where they play, they keep getting results regardless. Maybe it's something our mens team needs to learn.

It's not the total points tally of each second placed team, the results against the bottom placed (or top placed team?) are excluded. Or did I get that wrong?

England and Wales do the dirty deed and play for a draw. Both go through. England will win the game in hand before they play Wales

Can't see the England match being at the CCS as Cardiff are playing Arsenal there the following day. Think you might be right there. Rodney Parade looks to be free of fixtures that weekend, and 7800 seats is just about perfect. I noticed that the National League fixtures only come out on 4 July ... which might be too late for the FAW, as they need to give 60 days' notice.

Assuming that the FAW have known where they want to play the match for quite some time, then the club whose ground they play at would probably have had enough notice to tell the fixture compilers they want an away fixture that weekend.

Not entirely sure the WOL summery is actually helpful ... ... but one match to look out for is Scotland at home to Switzerland, a day before our match. If the Scots take at least a point, they are certain to make the play-offs, me thinks, at our expense (but at least we will be clear about needing to beat England). www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wales-women-world-cup-qualify-14777938 IF WALES DRAW They will earn a place in the play-offs should three of the following circumstances occur: Scotland pick up just one point from their remaining two games If Scotland lose to Switzerland, win or draw with Albania, and Belarus beat Poland Norway lose to the Netherlands by four goals in Group Two Ukraine win their remaining games in Group Four and Denmark to lose to Croatia In the same group, Denmark and Ukraine win their remaining games - and Ukraine do so without overcoming an nine-goal swing Germany lose to Iceland by eight goals or more in Group Five OR Germany lose their remaining two games, with the Czech Republic winning theirs OR Germany win their remaining games and Iceland lose to the Czechs Belgium fail to win their remaining two games in Group 6 Finland slip up in either of their remaining two games in Group Seven

as far as i'm aware there are 4 runner up places. out of the 7 groups 4 second place teams have 15 points after 6 games (wales have 17 after 7). so its going to be tight even if Wales get a point from the england game.

Wrexham has a larger capacity and there's a chance to expand interest in the women's game all over Wales with this.
Isn't the pitch at RP crap too?
