Still a long way to go. I can't believe how difficult it is to qualify for the women's world cup. Only the top teams go through automatically and only 4 of the second placed teams go through to a playoff! Realistically, we probably need to beat them at home to go through in first place given our poor goal difference (only +3, theirs is +15!). It's very likely second place won't be enough for a playoff too!

Can we drop Hennessey for O'Sullivan?

What an excellent performance and result. I hope Giggs is asking Ludlow for tips in how to set out a defence.
We have Bosnia-Herzegovina and Russia at home to play. Those are the key games. Win both and I reckon we'll get a play-off. Anything we get from England will be a bonus.

Superb from Phil Neville there, helping out one of the Welsh players with cramp. UEFA official told him to stop for health and safety, fuck me. He probably just wanted to check out her crotch!

Last night was the bonus. Going on the best runners-up stats from previous women's qualification campaigns, I reckon we need 7 points to be sure of a play-off place... 3 wins and we definitely qualify as group winners, regardless of how England do in their other games.

Superb result. Well done. In front of 25k as well. And an estimated 500 Welsh fans too. I suspect more like 350 - 400, as there were a few England fans in the "away" section too.

If England drop points in Zenica next week, that would be one hell of a bonus for Wales.

Safe journey to everyone travelling down to Southampton tomorrow. I'm told there'll be at least 600 Wales fans in the stadium, with the majority of 350 or so being together in block 36. Easily the largest away support ever for a Wales Women's international, and more than England brought to Cardiff the last time we played them. Would have been more if it wasn't for Sky moving the Cardiff-Wolves game to the Friday night. England have sold around 25k tickets in total. Hopefully we can create a mini red wall and give the team good vocal support. Well done everyone who travelled to Southampton last night. Great support throughout the game, and lovely scenes when the players came over at the end.

Parc Y Scarlets is another option.

One week until the Women's World Cup returns: Thursday 7 June - Wales v Bosnia, Liberty Stadium Swansea, 7pm ko. Tickets via Liberty Stadium - www.eticketing.co.uk/ssmcTuesday 12 June - Wales v Russia, Newport Stadium, 7pm. Tickets via FAW - www.eticketing.co.uk/fawtickets-english/EDP/Event/Index/251A reminder that Wales will qualify for the Workd Cup with 3 wins from the final 3 games. Wales need a minimum of 7 points to have a chance of the play-offs, so both next week's games are vital. Hopefully we can get a record women's crowd for the match in Swansea; and a sell-out for the match in Newport.

Hope they get the results.
What are the chances of the Wales v England match on August 31 being played at the Racecourse? Is the criteria for hosting Women's WC qualifiers different to the men's team?

I'm guessing the club involved would reschedule or arrange an away match for that day. Maybe they're waiting for the fixtures to come out before confirming a venue.

Maybe they're waiting for the fixtures to come out before confirming a venue. If it comes down to Wales v England to qualify for the World Cup, we'd need a stadium that will hold 20,000 minimum. Pretty sure they are waiting for fixtures and TV schedule to be released. If Cardiff or Swansea have a live Friday night match, then that would rule one of those venues out.
