But that would be the case pretty much wherever the game was played! I'm guessing the club involved would reschedule or arrange an away match for that day. Maybe they're waiting for the fixtures to come out before confirming a venue. If it comes down to Wales v England to qualify for the World Cup, we'd need a stadium that will hold 20,000 minimum. Pretty sure they are waiting for fixtures and TV schedule to be released. If Cardiff or Swansea have a live Friday night match, then that would rule one of those venues out. Previous record attendance is around 4,000.

Close to 4,000 would travel from England for a start.

Wales Women have never had so such coverage and exposure. Plus England finished 3rd at the World Cup since we last played them at home. Plus we got 3,500 for Kazakhstan at home. If we can qualify, the crowd for England home will smash that. If we win the next two matches, The Racecourse won't be big enough.

It was the anniversary of the Women's Champions League final at the CC Stadium at the weekend. Attendance 22,433. Hope they can beat that. Going back to the main point, is there a reason (other than the predicted stampede for tickets) why the Racecourse can't hold this match?

Good idea, at least get some national football up north. And not taking the Mens team away from Cardiff.

The women's team have played at Bangor City's ground haven't they? So why not Wrexham?

Well the stadium wasn't available this week for a start! And if we're talking about the England match, it won't be big enough to accommodate demand if it's the group decider. In theory though, I guess there was nothing to stop last year's Kazakhstan match or next week's Russia match being played there.

Just looking at the fixtures, the group places could swap a few times over the next seven days. We'll go top if we beat Bosnia on Thursday. England will go top if they beat Russia in Moscow on Friday. We will go back to the top if we beat Russia next Tuesday.
Russia have hit a bit of form, so their games against England and Wales could prove key in who wins the group.

I am going tonight, really looking forward. Come on Cymru!!! A crowd of around 2,500 expected. So likely to be fewer fans than there were at CCS for the Kazakstan match in November.

Anyone fancy a trip to France next Summer ;-) Lets hope that the Russian ladies thump the English tomorrow in Moscow, but have a long and draining battle on their hands...
It must have been the team pic, what did it ;-)

What an excellent performance and result. I hope Giggs is asking Ludlow for tips in how to set out a defence. We have Bosnia-Herzegovina and Russia at home to play. Those are the key games. Win both and I reckon we'll get a play-off. Anything we get from England will be a bonus. Very little room for error in the Women's World Cup qualifiers. England home is likely to be decisive. Last night was the bonus. Going on the best runners-up stats from previous women's qualification campaigns, I reckon we need 7 points to be sure of a play-off place... 3 wins and we definitely qualify as group winners, regardless of how England do in their other games. Looking at it now, Group F and G have Belgium with 10 points and Austria with 7 points, both from 5 games. I don't think either will beat our tally if we win against Russia. That leaves one more group. In Group C, RoI and Norway have to play each other twice. Norway if they win their two games in hand can overtake us, but you'd hope RoI would pick up at least a point from those two games, particularly the home one. I'd say there's still a decent chance that beating Russia may be enough for a play-off.

What was the crowd last night?
Very big win, but I think Russia is going to be very tough. Looking at other results in the group, it seems like we're playing a typical 'Wales' style of game, trying to nicka goal and defend. Other teams have piled on the goals against Kazakhstan and Bosnia, whilst we've only managed 1-0s throughout.
Tough call what we want from England - Russia tonight. A draw would put it in our hands, but could boost Russia for when they play us, and they could still go above us if they beat us by more than 1-0 and win their final games (regardless of what we do against England). A Russia win would mean they could afford to draw against us, providing they win their last games, and still go above us. However England winning would mean they go above us and could even afford to lose against us and top the group provided they (they will) beat Kazakhstan. As we're unlikely to beat England, I'd say them winning may be best, and let them win the group with Russia demoralised by the time they play us. Thoughts?

I can't see Russia doing us a favour, England beat them 6-0 last time they played.

I'd like to see the England game brought up North. Women's football in Wales seems to be gaining more interest than ever, we should strike the iron while it's hot and spread that interest over the whole of Wales.
That's if Wrexham don't have a home fixture that day...

What a terrible attendance for the women, just shows the interest isn't there yet.
I watched a bit on TV and to be honest found it boring and very low on quality, so can see why interest is so low.
That being said I really hope they beat Russia as nothing will sparked interest like a Wales V England decider.
I wish I was more interested as I have girls myself and coach a girls team. I will see how many of them watched the game last night.

I must admit, I'm a bit of a football snob so usually only enjoy games at the elite level. I don't really enjoy watching the Welsh Prem and just do so occasionally through a sense of duty. The same goes with the women's national team. However, I watched the second half yesterday and did quite enjoy it and was pleasantly surprised with some of our play.

Simon Davies on BBC commentary said the crowd was 4,5k
I thought the game was very good and very enjoyable .
Great committed performance by the Welsh girls. I would love to be able to go to the Engkand match in August. They deserve the full support of the nation and all football fans.
Jess Fishlock is a Great player.
