He will get 100 Caps for Cymru on Tuesday. Any favourite Wayne moments? I remember he played his part in the 0-0 scrap against Bosnia in the Euro 2016 qualifier at home. It was a result that gave Wales a lot of confidence and it was a physical affair. Wayne had a great night. Big save against Dzeko. Congrats Wayne! llongyfarchiadau!!! I remember celebrating his double save against Hungary the night we qualified for Euro 2020 almost like a goal.

I know he picked up that odd injury while jogging to pick up a goal, leading to Ward replacing him, but I still would have handed back the no1 shirt to him after he recovered.

It was one of those that when it dropped to their player in the box, you accepted it was about to be 1-1. Their player didn't take the chance very well but then they got a second bite of the cherry and Hennessey got himself over very well. The relief of him finally smothering the ball was a great feeling.

I reckon, as it’s a friendly, Page should just announce if Hennessey is playing or not so the media don’t need to put ‘should he feature in the game before every conversation.

Looks like Page has followed my advice haha. I’ll be updating Page with other advice in the coming 24 hours. Note- I’ll only give advice for the next 24 hours as I’ll be in a Cardiff pub from 2.30pm tomorrow and I wouldn’t want Pagey listening to me after that.

It would be very fitting for Wayne to be made captain for his century. He's been magnificent for Wales tbroughout his career. He has never let us down. Arguably performed better for his country than at club level. The boy is absolutely top class.

Aeth e Ysgol David Hughes, ac e'n wiki dweud "Hennessey yn siarad Cymraeg". Hennessey efallai heb hyderus yn Gymraeg, ond meddylais i efallai bydd e wneud cyfweliad hawdd yn Gymraeg. Mae'n debygol i fod amser hir ers mae Hennessey wedi siarad yr iaith

He will probably never get the full credit for it, but you can’t emphasise enough just how integral Wayne has been to our success over the last 8 years or so.

If Ward is fit for final i would still go for Hennessey in that game.

The big man will pick up cap 104 tonight, putting him just 4 behind Gunter (assuming CG doesn’t get on in Rotterdam) & 1 behind Bale currently, although Bale will feature.
With him back to being our No.1, will he become our most capped? I would say yes.
His friendship with Bale may encourage Gareth to play on longer as a friendly rivalry to see who gets most caps.

I know I've said this a few times on this forum, and I still stand by it. Ward should never have replaced him as number 1, and I still find the decision a bit baffling. Like OTJ said during the S4C Ukraine coverage commentary, he can't recall a single bad mistake in over 100 caps. Ward score an own goal not long ago against the Czechs.

Why was he ever dropped by Palace? I thought he was more than dependable for them.

Imagine how many caps he'd be on if he hadn't 'lost' a good few to Myhill and Ward. It's remarkable to reach that manyh for us without having always been the undisputed no.1

He also had a year out injured. Given that & the fact he has not been favoured a few times, he could be on 130+ caps by now.

He could still play on for another few years yet, keepers tend to go on past 36/37 these days which seemed like the set age for retirement not so long ago.

I reckon Gaz is out to get as many caps as possible. Been one or two games of late which I didn't think he'd be anywhere near, where he's come on for 10 mins etc. Shame that Ramsey and Joe Allen probably won't make the 100 but both hopefully into the 80s

Like OTJ said during the S4C Ukraine coverage commentary, he can't recall a single bad mistake in over 100 caps. Ward score an own goal not long ago against the Czechs. There definitely have been mistakes. I remember the one against Azerbaijan in the last Euros campaign, where he palmed a soft shot out to their player to score the equalizer, although it didn't cost us in the end. Lots have said his footwork isn't great and he's made some of the screamers he's conceded in the past look better than they were. But you're absolutely right, the absolute howlers have been few and far between - in fact, I can only think of that one example. And as you say, Ward has already had a worse howler than that. Also watched the programme on S4C in the build-up to Ukraine where they went though the goals during the campaign, and remember thinking Ward could have done better on a couple of them. On balance, Hennessey has performed better for us than Ward in my view.

Whatever happens the fact remains that we desperately, desperately need some decent youngsters to come through and challenge in the very near future, we can't have another situatin like the 00's and early 10's again.

The only howler I can remember from Hennessey which led to a goal was when he missed a simple cross/free kick in the Euro 16 qualifier versus Cyprus at home. Didn't cost us thankfully but made the second half a very nervy affair with only 10 men following Andy King's dismissal.

I would also add that we seem to have conceded a lot more long range shots with Ward in goal. I don't actually have the statistics, but can just recall us conceding a lot more outside the box.
