I agree welshcule- Sadly James Collins' form and attitude has been so poor lately that I'd rather see (gulp) Danny Collins start ahead of him at centre back too...

Our chances improve every day!
Williams and Danny Collins is a much better pairing. J Collins has been crap for Wales of late and if I see him sliding in on his arse and being made to look a fool one more time Ill puke.

I'm with RD on this- James Collins hasn't had a good game for Wales for over 2 years, his form has been generally awful for Villa this season, his attitude is questionable (missing the Croatia game in the summer, the recent drinking session whilst 'team bonding') and the English have got a certain Shrek-faced granny shagger in attack who loves playing against him...
Sadly, our chances of winning will be improved if he doesn't play.

Totally agree with Storm and flynnfan - J Collins is a liability, cost us game in Montenegro and always looks like making mistakes.
Williams and Danny Collins is far more effective combination in central defence.
If, and it's a big if that Bale, Ramsey & Bellamy remain injury free and play and play out of there skins we actually could win this game!!!!

whether you think hes a liability or not, if hes fit, and a premier leauge centre half, he has to be in our 22 man squad.

Andy Carroll versus Williams and Danny C - how do you think that one would pan out? At least JC is very good in the air.

When I saw him for Newcastle against Cardiff I thought that "donkey" could make a big impact on the Prem. He totally bullied our defence. I'm hoping he doesn't make the England starting 11.

We do need Collins - especially if Carroll plays - he can nullify him - two donkeys cancelling each other out.
Keeping Rooney quiet will be more difficult.

You forget that that is a premiership game, this is an international and continental refs wont let any bullying go on. Continental refs ruined Hartson's effectiveness by clamping down on his physicality, it should be no different for Carroll. Its not nice but if our lads hit the deck whenever he is about we should have free kicks by the bucket load. I cant see him play anyway, how many caps has he got? It would be madness for Capello to throw him in in a crucial game for them. It will be Rooney and an established player like Defoe or Crouch up front.

Doesn’t matter who plays in defence, it’s an accident that has already happened!! Conceding on average 2 goals per game over the last 4 played.
I wont get into the average goals scored over the last 4 games……
I just hope something clicks a week Saturday, wish I had the answers.

Collins is a liability IMO, as is Hennessey. Wales have been involved in qualifiers since 1950, only once have we ever won a group (Euro 76) this is the FIRST time we have lost all our 3 opening games ever, I still say since I've supported Wales (1958) this present squad is the worst I've seen.

Totally agree Cliffy, although I dont have as many years on the board ( no offence! ) I think it is as poor a squad as even in the Bobby Gould days. There is a real divide between under 21 football and senior football, a massive one. Either that or Flynn truly is a miracle worker to get the performances he does from the players he has so to get carried away because we have competed at under 21 level is premature. That being said I still believe any team can be competitive if they are set up to make the most of their limited resources. Look at Estonias recent upturn, they have very few household names. When was the last time in all honesty that we were well organised? Both away games to Germany under Tosh spring to mind, but thats it in 6 odd years. We leak goals like a sieve and need to stop that before we think about scoring them.

We have plenty of quality in the squad. Hennessey and Gunter are very good young players who are what 22? name me any goalkeeper or right back who are established first team international players at thier age who are better?
We have the players to succed, we really do. the problem comes with belief and tactics

Rooted to his line, couldnt organise a wall to save his life. Indecisive at the best of times. He honestly used to be a better keeper when he was younger, since breaking through to Wolves 1st team he has never quite convinced. Plenty of time to get better but at this point he is not our best keeper. He will still get picked though because he plays 1st team football.

Probably, I would prefer Myhill between the sticks TBH. Definitely! Myhill wont let you down and you have the added bonus of the chance that he will have one of his world class days like he did against Tottenham. Absolutely unbeatable that day.

Hennessey kept another clean sheet today- Wolves hadn't kept one all season till he came in. Hen will get the nod as he's the one playing regularly. I just hope he's learnt something about positioning for free kicks since the Ireland game.....

Unfortunately FF that doesnt mean a thing as I remember Hennessey kept a clean sheet earlier this season against Birmingham. So I tuned in to the highlights expecting to see him making some blinding saves and it turns out Birmingham never had a shot on goal! Stevie Wonder could have played and kept a clean sheet ;D

We should find out this afternoon if JC is fit enough to play. Hopefully he will be. The prospect of John Terry and Andy Carroll competing at corners against panic-stricken Ashley Williams, Gabbs who can't jump, or Daniel Collins, fills me with horror.
