Calm down everyone, this game is more than 2 years away. By then :- Wizz Air will have stopped flights, Russia will have invaded them. It will already be impossible for us to qualify. All the hangeroners will have gone back to egg chasing. Whats all the panic about? Was thinking same, when thread started I started looking how much flights would cost then I put in dates of flight I thought, fuck that, could be dead by then . Lol

The wizzair flights get to Moldova at 18:20 local time and kick off is 21:45. Hmmmmmm. Have you seen how close the stadium is from the airport? It's about 10 mins drive down a straight road

Exactly this. Unless there's a surge in flight prices (wizz could well pull the flights to Chisinau due to lack of interest) or Moldova becomes pricey all of a sudden, it won't be too different. I ended up in Macedonia around the time we played in Skopje (Annoyingly there was no way for me to make the game) and the Wizz Air flights cost a fortune around the game - I ended up flying back from Belgrade and even that was pretty expensive with quite a few fans on the flight. You'll want to get in early!
I flew to Skopje with WizzAir. Their such thieving barstools, they make Ryanair look ethical. If I remember rightly they charge for anything bigger than a day pack as hand luggage. There was also a woman at the airport making sure everyones' luggage was the right size. If it was oversized = extra charge. She tried to argue that my baggage was oversized because it was bulging out. So I had to open the suitcase, take out a couple of shirts and jumpers and put them on!

5% is 520. So less than what we will have in Sarajevo.

The World Cup qualifiers don't have a minimum allocation for away fans. The allocation is simply mutually agreed (presumably between the 2 FAs). So I'd imagine most FAs will say you give us x we'll give you x.
5% is a good benchmark.

Trains from Kiev are 15 hours if you fancy a double bubble trip and taking in the glories of Ukraine

Anybody know when WizzAir are likely to publish their 2017 schedule?
Even better, is there anything such as an airline industry newsletter that gives the heads-up on these types of things?

Trains from Kiev are 15 hours if you fancy a double bubble trip and taking in the glories of Ukraine Totally my plan. Night train Kiev to ODESSA dept 9pm arrive 06:20 1st class sleeper 750 UAH/£23 Or its 370 UAH/£12 in 4-bed coupe sleeper. There is a new weekend train Odessa to Chisinau on Saturday and Sunday dept 16:48 arrive 10pm (we play on Tuesday). Dept back 07:34 Sat/Sundays. If you need to get back to Kiev, Kyshyneu to Kiev dept 21:32 arrive 15:00 DAILY! Totally loved Kiev in March and looking forward to Odesa in early September - should be gorgeous weather!

Most airlines load their late Spring and Summer timetables in September. Options are direct, via Vienna / Kiev. Quite a few of ROI fans going intend to visit Transdneistra.................... now nicknamed Narnia. A good funny read is Playing The Moldovans at Tennis by Tony Hawks.

60p a pint in Georgia too. I'm so excited for these away trips. Georgia I doubt I'd fancy. Unless I felt like going to chechnya for a pint. 5 hour drive away from there so I doubt it'll be an issue.

You might find it difficult getting a pint in Chechnye, as its predominantly Muslim. Still, if you buddy up with the Russian soldiers, it should be easy enough...
On the other hand, Georgia has some of the most delightful Cognac / Brandy and quite decent white wine as well. Even better, the people are warm, welcoming and very friendly ( the 5-0 aside)...

I knew they were mainly Muslims and that is one of the reasons for all the whoo haa with the Russians. But I didn't realise to this degree!: Drink There are no night clubs or discos in Chechnya. However beer is sold on the street in Grozny. Common sense should be used when drinking alcohol, especially in danger zones. Sales of alcohol legally only from 8.00 to 10.00 AM and prohibited for all other times.

Does Moldova have any players of note? I can't think of any past or present

Artur Ioniță - Apparently Swansea and Juventus were linked to this guy but he went to Cagliari. Probably their most well known and possibly best player

Sounds like your speaking from experience there. Have you been to Chechnya or Grozny? Been twice to Georgia in the early 90s - stayed a full week in Sokhumi (Abkhhazia) and first time around - after popping over for a 4 day break in Sochi (Russia) we came back to Sokhumi to find that the place we stayed at (actually the Lord Major's own villa!) was totally destroyed by tanks two days earlier! This kind of shock us a bit, and we left the very same day to Tbilisi ... only to be told that it wasn't safe there either ... Boy was I glad to reach the safety of Yerevan ... the sight of waking up to Mt Ararat is quite something! The second trip was boring in comparison ...
