Has the same problem still where Ayew is incapable of playing a one-two. You could hear Connor screaming for the first time return ball so often today, but Ayew just wants to hold it and dribble people himself (which he's pretty good at tbf). Exactly. Ayew's as an individual is quality, but isn't a team player in possession. A bigger mismatch in attributes between Ayew and Roberts you'd struggle to find.

Good reports from first half. Got the assist for the first and had three shots off target. Seems to be getting back to his old self?

good performance. Undoubtedly a wing back or a wide midfielder in a 4-4-2. Cooper now switched to 3-4-2-1 which has got the Swans playing again - odds on for final play off spot now

In that formation you could have a Welsh back 5 in theory next season; Cooper-Cabango-Rodon with Roberts & John as wingbacks

Rodon will be gone - rumoured to be Leicester which would be a great fit. John useless at left back but could be useful as a wing back. Bidwell has played well there to be fair but again is limited as a right back

Puts Swansea ahead just before HT.
Having a good game. Great runs into the box.

Good on him!

Seems like he has recovered his form! Good on him! This new system Swans been playing with three CBs and 2 WBs really suits him. He's much better going forward than defensively. He's got an incredible engine and will quite often be our furthest forward player. Could be his future Wales position ahead of Neco at RB !!

He's not good enough with the ball to be a future international winger (fortunately we've a few of those). The quality of his movement from fullback has always been one of his main strengths but it's a different game when you start high up the pitch and have a defender marking you.

Linked with Sheffield United whose system would suit him. Not sure he would get much time over Baldock, though. They're also linked with Matty Cash.

£6m reported.
Not sure they could resist that.

He's 25 next month so not going to get a huge fee for him. If Connor were sold Naughton could sign a new contract and the Swans wouldn't really be any weaker at right back. But the club managed to push up the fees for DJ and McBurnie significantly last summer (from ~£10m to £15m+ iirc) and just announced a new investor to take the pressure off the overdraft so who knows.

Would be a good move I think if it did come off - their manager seems to improve players

Quite possibly in the best form he's ever been in for the Swans.

Quite possibly in the best form he's ever been in for the Swans. His free-kicks are impressive - clearly something he's been working on. Side-footed delivery - gets plenty of curl and lovely flight. Also regular corner kick taker. Amazing stamina.

Also regular corner kick taker. Amazing stamina. Good to hear, might be the competition from Neco pushing him to add a new string to his bow. Given how poor out set pieces typically are, that could be a really useful option to have

Connor Roberts coming out with some good banter today... Just seen this, haha I love CR! Class to hear he's playing well - looked good on Quest highlights :-) Hope we stick with a 3-4-3 kinda formation this month, it would be good to see Connor playing wing back for us!

Deserves to start the two competitive fixtures in this form, and I think he will.

Would defo start him given he's doing so well & Neco hasn't really played since Bulgaria

Neco's still a great option off the bench against a tiring defence. It will be interesting to see if we use Roberts' much improved technique at set-pieces. The fact that he's obviously put in a lot of time and effort on the training ground to improve his set piece capability says a lot about his character - and I'm sure he'll be itching to show what he can do. It's great to see the positive effect that genuine competition is having on our squad.

Don't think he's been at his best in recent games, even very quiet against the yanks.

Don't think he's been at his best in recent games, even very quiet against the yanks. I have been quite critical of him in recent welsh games as I think he is sound defensively but lacks skill and composure at the top end of the pitch, therefore would much prefer Neco in the 5-2-3 we play or in whatever formation against a team we should be attacking (i.e. all of our nation league games) However I do think he was very good vs USA, one of the stand out performances. And he has been playing well for Swans apparently so I wouldn’t be against giving him a game vs Finland if Neco plays vs Ireland today.
