It's a sign of how far we've come that a player who is probably currently the Premier League's best free-kick specialist can't be confident of a first team position with Cymru.

When he's on the pitch, he should take them. When he's not, Bale should. Hardly a bad boat to be in.

Watched 2nd half only. Thought Wilson was trying to get into game but didn’t happen for Bournemouth. He kept probing

Tried his best to get involved, nothing really came off from him today. More convinced he's better off playing just behind Callum Wilson in the #10 role.

He was slightly better in the second half, but he's just not the type of player that can take a game to the opponents which is what Bournemouth needed playing against 10 men. He didn't take anyone on all game, he just doesn't have the build for it.

Didn't see the Bournemouth game, but looks like Wilson was anonymous once again and hooked after 60mins. People can make as many stupid 'he only contributes goals and assists' gags as they like, but all-round contribution is important and his is piss poor. That's why he's always the first subbed off when Bournemouth are struggling and why he's only started half their games. Klopp will be gutted, papers were reporting they could have sold him for 20-25mil last summer. After this season, I suspect they'll move him on for 8-12mil

So we were just fucking dire in general today; even more injuries to contend with now as well. Think we might go down tbh.
Mepham was okay, wasn’t really the issue. Thought H. Wilson was really fucking bad though, had one of his “I’m going to do nothing” performances.

Wilson was really fucking bad though, had one of his “I’m going to do nothing” performances. Wilson's qualities and shortcomings should be abundantly clear to everyone now. He has superb technique and if you give him space, he'll put in top quality crosses, passes and shots. But he's physically terrible and he doesn't have the intelligence / spatial awareness of a da silva, bernardo silva, iniesta etc. so he struggles to find space. I can't see him improving physically, so he should try to get smarter and try to emulate the game of someone like da Silva. If he doesn't do that, he'll remain an inconsistent bottom prem / top championship player.

To be fair there are very few players that do. I don't think anyone's suggesting that he is or ever will be. It's why he's playing for Bournemouth.

Well yes, clearly, but it's a spectrum and I would argue Wilson's at the lower end of it. That's why he struggles to get involved in games so much. I'm not saying he needs to be as good as da Silva in terms of game intelligence, I only mentioned him as one of the best examples of the type of attribute I'm talking about. But that's what I'd like to see him work on.

Wilson has scored 6 goals in 16 games in the EPL. More than Callum Wilson who has played more.
Put in more context Bradshaw has scored 7 in 24 championship games.
Wilson is still young and will continue to improve and the people knocking him are short sighted.
Take his goals away and where would Bournemouth be now.

Conceded a joke penalty for their third goal. It was initially quite embarrassing with Noble breezing past him, but then despite a tiny pull on his shoulder from wilson outside the box, noble kicks his own heels and goes down. Referee gives it and VAR bizarrely decides not to overturn!

Was much better yesterday...probably one of his best overall performances for us tbh, a lot more direct involvements throughout the game. Even tracked back a fair bit!

For all his faults, with players like King and Brooks out we're going to need players like H to step up, so hopefully more to come from him. The game felt like a real turning point for us, so with a bit of luck we might even get your welsh players some momentum for the Euros!

7 premiership goals is a very good return in a struggling team.
To put in perspective the much vaunted Bradshaw has 8 in the championship, playing up front

He was a classic number 9 when at U23 level in Liverpool, circa 2016. Scored loads of goals from inside the box. Think he got 28 or 29 goals in the season before he move to Hull

I definitely think he's a number ten, he got his goal by being initially in the centre, and then peeling off to the right.
I think whilst King is injured, they should be trying to play Harry Wilson just behind Callum Wilson.

Disallowed goal today amid VAR controversy. Currently still on 7 for the season. Other than that non goal, he also had a diving header from 7 metres saved and another decent shot from 20m.
Not wishing to trigger the wrath of the righteous ... but is there not a good argument for starting BOTH Tom and Harry in March ... ahead of the tired looking Daniel?

<!----> I can't see an argument for playing James in the friendlies. Clearly needs a rest and I think given James is a banker for the summer, we're better off seeing what the likes of Matondo/T.Roberts/Lawrence can do instead given that they didn't get much of a look in towards the end of the campaign.
