But if he wasn't going to sell at the right price recently, why would he in January? Burnley were the only club interested, and even they didn't stretch themselves. A player who doesn't play isn't going to be able to hold value surely?

This season is going to be a particularly challenging one in terms of managing player's fitness and injuries, by January I think there will be clubs panic buying to an extent in order to bolster squads.

He's been left out of Liverpool's champions league squad.

He's been left out of Liverpool's champions league squad. Leaving for the championship perhaps? I wonder if Bournemouth might come in for him if Brooks goes up.

Is it possible for him to still get a loan to a Premier League club or did the loan window end at the same time?

A few clubs interested in Wilson apparently, including Swansea and Cardiff. (Norwich are not btw, twitter mistake)
Can't see him fitting in at Cardiff tbh.

Surprisingly, Swansea seem to be favourites to land Wilson on loan: footballleagueworld.co.uk/liverpool-leaning-in-favour-of-one-particular-efl-suitor-as-harry-wilson-decision-looms/ Similar article in the Mirror. It does kind of make sense when you consider that he has 3 years left on his Liverpool contract - so basically Liverpool are probably thinking how can we get the best possible sell-on value. Given the experience with Brewster they'll be hoping for similar joy with Swansea. If he can rediscover his form from his time at Derby he would be a huge asset for Swansea. Cooper would definitely demand a high work rate from Wilson, Cooper's No1 "non-negotiable" quality - which could be his making.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Andre Ayew was sold on in the last few days of the window, to get him off the wage bill for a relatively small fee (£5 million), and was replaced with Harry Wilson on loan for the season.
Derby paid £1 million loan fee last time, and they'd probably ask for something similar this time, and it is a lot of money for us, but it'd be a lot more financially justifiable if swapping one year for Ayew for one year of Wilson saved us something like £7 million for the year.

By the sounds of it he's off to Derby, Swans weren't able to compete with the loan fee.

Really hope Cardiff don't get him. Why? Because I don't want him to put a free kick in the top corner against us in the derby.

Having a medical at Cardiff today apparently. The respected Liverpool journalists have all but confirmed he'll be signing.

Not sure how this one will work out as Cardiff have traditionally preferred speedsters on the wing, particularly with Moore to cross into. I suspect he we will provide competition to Tomlin for the no.10 spot, with Ojo, Murphy, Hoilett on the wings?

Tomlin (or as Luton used to call him in his Rushden day's Fat **at) never stays fit and whenever Cardiff lose without him twitter seems to scream about City missing creativity without him.

He'll probs start most games on the right but when Tomlin is unavailable he'll play as a no.10
Hope this works out but I can honestly say I have no faith in Cardiff getting the best out of him

I can see why we didn't get in for him, that's a lot of money for a loan. We can't afford that for a permanent signing. Great signing though for them fair play.

Don't want to be overly negative, but I don't see that as good value for Cardiff. I think he may be a bit-part player this season as I can't see him giving what they need out wide and Tomlin will be the first choice as a 10. £1.2m for a bit part player for one season is not good business in my view

He can't play 90 minutes, is liable to injuries and losing his head. Wilson would start ahead of him Cardiff may not be the greatest transfer operators, but they aren't spending that kind of money on a backup
