Only had a quick look but on booking.com 100% of the rooms are already reserved the night of the match in Lens. Lille similar story.
Seen on facebook a few people mention Brussels.
I'm considering Dunkirk or Valenciennes as plenty of rooms left and not far from Lille where ill probably fly too.
I'll be based down South but travelling up for that match for maybe 2 nights before going back down.

Douai may be an option south of Lens (under an hour by train).

Not an awful lot to do in the town, but it is a pleasant enough place to spend a night or two. Quite a few nice brassieres in the main square. My mate still lives there, so if you have any specific queries, feel free to drop me a PM.
I've booked into Brussels. Was surprised how reasonable it was considering that Brussels isn't cheap even at the best of time and that they knew that a game would be playing nearby.

I booked a Hotel in Arras about 10-15 mins away from Lens for the Date of the game but looking at driving down on the Wednesday morning and catching a ferry over on the Wednesday and staying somewhere on France Wednesday night and checking in early on Thursday morning and hitting Lens. Then come home Friday Afternoon and a late ferry back

Either paris or brussels i think. Have booked rooms in both cities now with free cancellation just to secure something until i figure out the logistics of which city is easier to get to Lens from.

Cheers for that. Pleasant sounds good me. I'm expecting Lens and Lille to be a bit chaotic.

Cheers for that. Pleasant sounds good me. I'm expecting Lens and Lille to be a bit chaotic. Yeah, it's nice enough and there will be worst places to stay. It's just that I have been there five or six times now so have done everything there is do there now.
Remembered a couple of other things that might be of use: at the train station in Valenciennes they have ticket machines (pretty sure that they have an English option) so that you can book tickets without struggling to speak French at the ticket office. It also has a modern tram system, so if you are going to book a hotel there, it might be useful to check how far it is from a tram stop. The main hub for the trams is at the train station.

I've booked a place in Brussels, may try and book one in Paris is well and decide later on. Plenty of options although if it moves to an evening KO it'll make it a pain to get anywhere by public transport.

some very cheap rooms in Lille (33 minute train ride away) available with Ibis Budget, around £66 a night for a triple room! Please be aware Ibis no longer list their rooms on booking.com so worth checking the ibis website. they also have good rates in Bordeaux and Toulouse, if you dont mind being a little more you can go for the flexi option and cancel up to day before which is handy.

Our plan is to get the last train out to Paris which arrives there around 11.30pm. We'll hang around in Paris for 7hrs in bars etc ? Then catch the 6.30am train to Bergerac which arrives at 11.30am. Itll be an epic but worth it.

I keep getting that its too early to book tickets? On the home page you might need to click on the link to Euro 2016 travel and do it that way. It defo works as I've booked mine and had the confirmation through!
