Any game v Russia could be seen as a target, given their involvement in Syria. Large North African population in southern France especially Marseille and Toulouse.

Anywhere could be a target but it will never stop me from enjoying my life and travelling. If I get caught up in then so be it. Not worried about it and will be vigilant. There's too many things in life you could worry about if you think too much about it! Life's not a rehearsal

I seem to remember a couple of thousand very happy Welshmen last year celebrating in Haifa and that is an actual war zone ... Nope - lets live our life and enjoy every minute!

It won't stop me going but I'm not going to pretend that I'm able to just ignore the threat. I suspect the security will (for good reason) be very much in our faces for the whole trip. No point pretending that it will always be quite the party atmosphere it should/would have been.

I see the Daily Mail (harbinger of doom) has mentioned all games featuring England/Wales are being treated as extremely high risk. No big surprises there really but we'll have to get to the stadium in plenty of time. Metal detector searches for all apparently. Over 1200 security guards. Try not to leave it last minute lads or there's a chance you might miss the booing, I mean anthems. I'm a bit concerned about the Slovakia game. Flight doesn't get in til 14.30 so any delays and it's gonna be squeaky bum time. Worse case scenario I'll be on the plane, on the Tarmac with no tv to even watch the game. Tickets in hand, crying into my complimentary nuts.

Complimentary nuts?
Probably the last solid food you'll eat on the trip!

Its probably going to be the safest place on earth. Will defiantly getting to the game well in advance as i suspect getting into the stadium will be tight.

I would say make your way to the ground no less than 2 hours before each game. I can see queues of 30-60 minutes to get in each ground (depending how late you leave it of course). Have been to the NFL at Wembley a few times where everybody gets metal detected. It takes a long time. Plus I wouldn't surprised if we get scanned before entering the grounds of the stadium and then again when entering the actual stadium.

A terrorist is out to do just that, terrorise. Their aim is to make people live in fear, to not go out, and disrupt a normal routine. History shows us that they only strike when least expected, a normal day so to speak. Tuesday AM going to work, Thursday mid morning, sunbathing at a small resort beach Small gigs in Paris, a normal travel day at an airport. There is a reason that major events like the World cups and Olympics don't get hit, and that is because security is heightened everywhere, (live in fear) the listening posts at GCHQ pick up on words like EURO16, LENS, PARIS, ENGLAND/WALES on emails/phonecalls and text that trigger investigation.
I cannot say that it will be 100% safe, but i'd rather be surrounded by 1000s of security guys with the disruption, than anywhere else.

There's 8 of us and have booked a minibus to take us to village du lac, which is 1km from the stadium, drop off bags and continue to the stadium. bordeaux-helloshuttle.fr/en/

Stories of owners abandoning the bar and heading for supplier to bring huge amounts in and coming back and finding that their bar hadn't been thrashed or robbed. For some owners best idea is just hire a truck fill with beer and park behind bar
