Hopefully we can emulate Wales next week in Bordeaux but what would be useful is tips to avoid the hassle.
Driving into Bordeaux so having an idea of where to go and not go would be a real big help and really don't want to spend hours getting in an out.
Thanks

It's all been pretty good really! Plenty of bars and restaurants.
Just leave plenty of time to get to the stadium as it's miles out of the city

I am in and out on the day so not likely will be spending hours in the town....... hence its in and out by car.

Hi OD. There were road blocks from about 4km before the stadium and the main bridge to stadium from Lormont was totally closed off to all transport. I'd say, get yourself to the right bank of the river, just south from Lormont, At La Cite du Vin there are dozens of direct shuttle busses from there to stadium from around 11am. About 15 minutes ride

The best thing you can do mate is avoid all the "official" advice about flamboyant flags and size of flags and stadium car park being closed. Load of bullshit mate. Go early park in the free loads of spaces stadium car park and if you wish get a tram into town and back.
Lot of scaremongering on here from certain quarters I can't mention any organisations or I will be castigated again.

I think there was an element of pot luck with flags depending which security guard you got. They wouldn't let my group take one of theirs it but let me slip through with a bottle of water

Thanks Follow the Euro 2016 parking signs which lead you to take junction 6 off the ringroad (A630). Don't take J4 or J5 as seems the obvious thing to do when driving from the North. You'll think it's taking you miles out of your way, but you end up at the massive, free stadium car park. It was half empty on Saturday. Ignore the Park and Ride.

We parked at "Les Aubiers" tram station - park and ride spaces for about 300 cars which was half empty even straight after the game. €4.50 for parking and return ticket to the ground which covered up to 5 people, and was only 10 minutes each way. Plenty of trams lined up after the game, was on the motorway within 30 minutes of full time. Saw quite a few Welsh fans do the same.

If you get there early (3-4 hours before KO), you can then nip in and out of town quickly on the trams. Good atmosphere on the trams too. Not much to do around the stadium, so plenty of fans going both ways..! Enjoy!

our tram was squished. At one point driver slowed down very very sharply & nobody moved an inch! THere is a Pullman Hotel one stop before the Stadium - I was lucky enough to be staying in the Ibis next door & worked out quickly that the police presence, Barriers & Flying a Welsh Flag outside the hotel (no Slovak Flag) could only have meant that was where the Welsh team was staying. Got off the tram at that stop as I needed to pick up my ticket from the room - the same time the Welsh team was boarding the bus

Not only is it a massive car park it is also a brilliant dual use site as all the canopies above keeping the cars covered from the sun are solar panels which supply electricity to the area around the car park.
