I think he got 7 goals for Reading in the Premiership, not bad for a winger's first Prem season
He impresses me every time he plays for Wales, maybe he just needs to find the right club...

Yeah, I really aprrediate his effort. And he's looked better for us recently. He does seem extremely limited, but maybe this is down to not being at the right club / head coach.

Robson-Kanu is one of a few players who seem to play better for Wales than for their clubs.
Others include Chester and Jonathan Williams

I don't think that Robson-Kanu will write as good an autobiography as good as Cascarino's.
Would love to be proved wrong though. ;-)

Hal is a true welsh hero - he has given his all for us and has that rare quality of changing games - maybe not in a bale way but very, very effective. His performance when he came on v Bosnia was immense, held the ball well shrugging off extremely physical Bosnia and driving forward. Superb. The songs are great and suspect he loves them too.

He does perhaps have a mixture of Bryan and Nwanko in him with a surname like that

Did you see him offer a fan a ticket on twitter? Not sure if he followed through with it, but love the sentiment!

He was mightily pumped after the final whistle in front of the Ninian Stand. Great to see.
Think he's edged ahead of John Robinson as my favourite 'Anglo'

I was always under the impression that Phillips' old man was Welsh.

I feel bad for him- obvioudky loves playing for Wales, great attitude (take note Collins), hes just sadly not got what it takes to be a nailed on starter for us for the forseeable. I am totally grateful for his effort and commitment its just that it wont take a lot for another player to emerge and take his place without much of a fight. Errrr....not nailed on? Perhaps that why cookie keeps picking him to start. As others mention he does have a habit of making things happen. Give it for our bra hal?

HRK has great attitude and work ethic but his touch is poor, and I doubt will ever be a premiership regular. I've got a lot if time for him but am crossing fingers that at least one of Joniesta/Lawrence/G Williams/Wilson steps up to be our wide man of choice other than Bale.
Not sure this will happen between now and France however, so HRK might well be a starter when the big one comes around.

He has a lot of potential he just needs the right manager and club to get the best out of him and make him feel appreciated! He scored 7 goals in his time in the Premier League, and he didn't start every game and played on the wing!

It's hard to believe a player of his physique is playing at Championship level. With the right manager behind him he could achieve great things.

Couple of points, he's not good enough for the premiership and we do have better players than him on the sidelines at the minute. However I don't feel sorry for him at all, he probably knows the score in that respect and he's the type of guy who will always answer the call to play for his country. At least we will have a player on the bench who we know will always give 100% for the cause, that's why he's become a folk hero among the fans, his work ethic coupled with the fact his surname is Kanu.

I think some of us are being a bit condescending/ignorant about his abilities/contribution. Fact - these apparently better players have achieved very little for their clubs/countries! Robson-Kanu scored those goals in the premiership as a midfielder/wide man. He scored for us away to Scotland (could have been an important goal in the scheme of things at that juncture) and Cyprus (which it turns out was a critical goal). He also won the free kick vs Belgium from which Bale scored through his sheer determination.
He has delivered for Wales and we do not have anyone else in the squad with his physicality! We do not have a Messi to replace him so lets stop this pretense that these younger, inexperienced, lightweight (in terms of physique) players are a better option. I hope they turn up trumps but they are nowhere near a clearly better option!

He's a prime example of a player who appears to be a better player at international level than at club level, a bit like David Healy. We have a couple more of these in the form of Chris Gunter (last few games) and Wayne Hennessey.

Completely agree, I know a Reading fan and he thinks HRK is shit and can't believe he is held in such high regard by Welsh fans. Every time he puts a Welsh shirt on his passion is second to none.

His touch is much better than people give him credit for.
Really good played IMO and I would be happy to see him play as our number 9 for the foreseeable future!

He has pace and his as physical as anyone. Come on Baxter? The lad needs too work on his touch. There's also a bit of Bale makes him look better than he actually his. What did my Irish mates tell me the other day about Phil Babb. It was that Paul Mcgrath made Phil Babb look like the worlds most expensive defender when in reality he was shit

He is good!!!! Just got to work on his touch and finishing and i bet you he´ll score in Cyprus. I think he needs to leave Reading as well. When i mention his name to a friend who´s a Reading fan, the guy always bursts out laughing. They can´t take him serious
