Looking for advice on driving from Calais to Lille. I've never driven outside the UK before so am virtually terrified of the whole "wrong side of the road" stuff. Any advice would be great!
Or better yet, I'f anyone is happy enough for 3 maybe 4 lads to jump in your car from the Neath Port Talbot Area that would be amazing lol

Langy, Driving in France isn't a problem, if you can drive over here then you can drive over there. You will be on the "wrong" side of the road, but the roads in France are in the main a lot quieter than they are here and they are better maintained. Some sections of their motorways ar "peage" and you have to pay, but you cover a lot of ground quickly. Driving in Belgium and Holland is more difficult than France only because they are more densely populated and there is more traffic. They don't have much clue when it com s to roundabouts though, so just be cautious and use your indicators, if needs be hog the centre of the road.
You will need to tell your insurance company and get your insurance cover extended to cover you in Europe, breakdown cover is also recommended, you will need spare light bulbs, a self test alcometer, red warning triangle, hi viz jackets for each person and your sat have shouldn't have any speed camera info stored on it. Once you have that, your good to go.
There were a bunch of guys from Port Talbot on our campsite in Toulouse, they had a Welsh flag with "Port Talbot Men of Steel" written on it. I thought it was very good link to the towns history and heritage.
I have previously towed a caravan in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany it's no problem, just stay away from Paris.

The A25 is toll free but the A26 is tolled. The A25 route is marginally quicker too it seems.

Another post to add to the consensus that driving in France isn't that bad. Coming off the ferry/shuttle puts you straight onto a motorway driving on the right, and it becomes natural surprisingly quickly. Roads are generally very empty so not at all intimidating. Make sure you have the kit for driving over there though as they require a GB sign on your car (may be on your numberplate already), beam deflectors, hi viz jackets and other stuff. Also keep your indicator on whilst overtaking unless you enjoy being tailgated!

Easy in france, don't bother with all the light deflectors and other bollox except a hi viz vest. Simple.😊

Can agree with the other posters that it is easy driving in France. The only time you could forget is on unmarked roads or car parks after a break in your journey. make sure you are switched on at these times in particular.
