If anyone is flying into or staying in Bratislava, FlixBus has today released its October dates for bookings. Buses go from three places in Bratislava (airport, new town, old town) to 4 places in Vienna for €5. The earlier you book it, the better your chances of getting it at €5 (goes up to €15 or €18 if bought on day... http://www.flixbus.com or click HERE

Thanks I'd say that you are better off with the FlixBus, above - as you can go directly from Bratislava Airport to the centre of Vienna for €5 in an hour. This particular journey is actually more accessible for the Stadium, as it arrives into Vienna ERDBERG station (Vienna International Bus Terminal), which is actually only 2Km away from the Stadium! So much nearer than the central railway station... TRY THIS direct link for match day or this - www.flixbus.com/ If you still prefer arriving by train, this is what the man in Seat 61 says: "Trains link Bratislava Hlavna with Vienna Hauptbahnhof every hour, journey time 1h06, no reservation is necessary or even possible, fare around €15, just buy tickets at the station on the day and hop on the next train."

Hope you will still have the energy to come over to Cardiff on Sunday - its Georgia, and in our last three games against them we didn't fair that well ;-(

I just noticed now that our poor Irish brethren have three away games this Autumn. They go to Serbia in Sep, Moldova in Oct and then Austria in Nov! That said, we did have two more 'away' games than what they had over in France ;-)

Just heard from oscardelta that Katowice to Vienna is only a little over 3 hours on the train - see times here. If you are struggling to get a cheap flight on Weds or Thursday (match day) then Wizz Air and Ryan air do £40 RETURN flights form London about 5 departures a day! Also read earlier that underwood is doing London to BRNO (currently £36 RETURN) on Wizz Air or Ryan Air and then it is only 90 minutes by train to Vienna - about €20 to €25 each way!! Worth checking out...

I just booked with Ryanair from Stansted to brno for 38 quid return. Train is an hour and a half to Vienna and about 25 quid each way. Bargain! Decent flight times as well. I'm all excited now. See you all there for Beer and sausage!

Paul Corky had just posted on FB, looking at probably only 2500 tickets for Vienna. Thanks for that. Yes. With a 50k capacity, that sounds about right (although the 5% is only a guide in WC qualifiers). Still, I dont think that this soon after the Euros, that there will be more than 1000 applying - maybe 1500 at most. Can only imagine our Moldova and dublin games being issues with ticket allocation

Can only imagine our Moldova and dublin games being issues with ticket allocation I've always thought that a lot of people would book late come September once people's bank accountstatement have been replenished and football season is back in full swing and people want another taste of Wales away after the euros. However if tickets get sorted around then it may put a lot of people off going if they know they won't be getting a ticket. It's also a Thursday which could deter a few. Still think there will be about 3000 out there though.

If anyone is arriving early to Vienna and staying for more than three days, you should consider getting the WEEKLY TRAVEL PASS on the Metro (valid from Monday to Sunday) - its the exact same price as the THREE-DAY PASS, at a mere €16.20 - really quite a bargain! No passport photos necessary. The Monthly Pass is only €48 ... about the same as a single zone fare in London nowadays ...

For those of you that are taking the £20 flights from LONDON to BRNO (WizzAir or RyanAir), there is a super cheap 2-hour bus that goes directly to the stadium for €8. czech-transport.com/index.php?id=18672

Anybody done their homework on the areas to stay in Vienna? Kind of... Mostly spying on the Irish forum ... Stephansplatz is the heart of town, with all the buzz and restaurants/nightlife as well as daytime activity. The Naschmarkt is a bit out of the way, but has great night-time street stalls, especially food. The most convenient place for the stadium is the Prater / Messe area - an amusement ground, with some decent daytime beer halls, about 3km from stadium. 24 pages of info on the YBIG site - forum.ybig.ie/vienna-november-12th-2016-travel-accom_topic52976.html

Anyone else get an e-mail from the FAW tonight to register your interest for tickets in the Austria away game? YEP ;-) I liked that they are doing it much earlier this time and also that they gave 4 options, to genuinely gauge people's interest. Think it was YES, Maybe, Unlikely and NO. #TogetherStronger
