Love these end of season camps where new names seem to keep appearing. I wonder if there will be any more they will be looking at? So he's a young-ish midfielder with 120 senior games under his belt playing in League One. Could have a chance at coming into the fold if he impresses Has anyone here ever watched him play?

Great news that. However, does this indicate that Pickering isn’t eligible? As I’d imagine that Crewe would have done a double announcement if he was. He’d have surely been in the training camp squad.

He’d have surely been in the training camp squad. Sometimes these things take time to confirm. I remember Kieffer had trouble providing the paperwork to prove his eligibility which caused a delay in him representing us, could be similar with Pickering, or he might have not decided if he wants to commit to an international team yet...or he isn't eligible! If you think about it, it might be tricky to prove where your grandfather was born...I know my grandparents have records in Wales, but not everyone is so fortunate so that could make proving eligibility in some difficult

Could be that he doesn’t feel Welsh either- fair enough if that’s the case too. I read that Tyrone Mears played for Jamaica despite him not actually being eligible. Makes sense to be certain about these things otherwise that’s just going to embarrass the assocciation.

Don't remember a delay with Kieffer Moore tbh, he was on the radar in early 2019, was called up into a Cardiff training camp (mid May 2019), then went to Portugal (training camp) late May 2019, he picked up an injury in training before Croatia away, and missed out in June 2019, and the rest is history

Yep: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49953930Despite his middle names - Roberto Francisco - the result of Italian blood somewhere in the family, Moore was always aware of his Welsh heritage through regular childhood visits to his maternal grandfather in his hometown of Llanrug, near Caernarfon. "I told my agent but there was a lot of back and forth because we couldn't find my grandfather's birth certificate," Moore explains. "My mum was searching everywhere, scrambling around the attic, everywhere, the whole family looking for it. "We had to send for a copy but we had to get more information and there was a lot of paperwork involved. "It took a good part of a year to eventually find him in the system and then things escalated. It was perhaps another six months before I got a call-up but I was being told there were people from the Wales set up watching me at games so the excitement was building.

What's happened with this guy then?
Wasn't he training with the squad before the Euro's, and seemed to be a regular at L1 level? Haven't seen him in Crewe's lineup this season yet.

Contract dispute I think, so he was banished to the U23s. But there was an article the other day saying progress was being made so he'd be returning to the first team.

Lowery seems to have dropped off the radar completely having come from nowhere into that training camp I believe he had a contract dispute not long after we called him up to that camp, and it resulted in him missing pre-season/start of the season last year and fell out of favour for a bit. It seems he's back involved now though Crewe definitely one to keep an eye on then!

Suggestions that Wrecsam are moving to sign him Would be an insane signing at this level, he'd be the best player in this league by some way. Hope it happens, but I'll believe it when I see it. Supposedly we've put the best offer in but he wants to play higher.

Bit strange, I thought he was highly rated at Crewe? Wasn't there talks of him getting called up to our senior training camp last year or before?

Bit strange, I thought he was highly rated at Crewe? Wasn't there talks of him getting called up to our senior training camp last year or before? Yeah he made the summer EFL camp, at the time was doing really well for Crewe. He was then outcasted after a contract dispute that saw him not get many games last year Then as Crewe struggled more and more he was re-introduced into the team, but they ended up being relegated anyway I think the view of him was that he's a League One player who will end up playing higher than that. If he were to join Wrecsam he's the type of player that could stay with them for a long time & end up playing at the right level, but it would be a bit of a risk for him personally. Amazing signing if it comes off tho!

Wrexham would not be an ambitious signing on his part, given it would take at least two years to get back to the level he was playing at last season. Not a good career move for a lad in his early to mid 20's tbh.
Would have expected him to end up at a lower Championship side tbh.

I'm shocked at some of the players we've recruited so we must be paying some serious money. Could set the lad up for a few years.

On the other hand, football is a short career and a decent, guaranteed payday could be considered a wise move for his future. I'd wager we'll be playing above Crewe within 5 years anyway.

Joins Joe Morrell at Pompey. Good move and puts him back in the picture.

Interesting to see him starting today and Morrell on the bench. He's a year younger than Morrell and plays the same position...
