Great to see that he starts against Brighton. Very encouraging given that I'm sure his return has been carefully managed to the nth degree.
Good luck Tom!

Did he play? The reports I read said Luton defence struggled against the mobile quick passing Brighton attack. 4-1 maybe didn’t do them justice ?

I see that Tomkinson guy off Mike Bassett every time I look at him. Really hard for me not to see it.

Luton did quite well up until the first goal, they limited Brighton to 1 clear chance, and created a few half chances themselves. They countered very well and Kabore looked full of energy as the RWB However eventually the pressure started to tell and then the breakthrough came. After that the pressure was off Brighton and they started to play well then Lockyer did give away a penalty but the commentators agreed it was a bit harsh. Ultimately I don't think we should judge Lockyer or Luton on their performance away to statistically a top 4 attack in the PL

Another PL run-out for Tom, hopefully, this coming Friday night - with Luton entertaining big-spenders Chelsea.
A good performance could see him come into the reckoning for a starting place against Korea in early September and, after that, who knows?

Sorry - just realised - the fixture is actually at Stamford Bridge.

We only have three fit CB's so no danger of him not playing either lol!

I'd start him to be honest, he'll be our only regular top flight defender in the squad

Unfortunately Tom is out of tonight's game against West Ham with a thigh injury according to BBC.

Unfortunately Tom is out of tonight's game against West Ham with a thigh injury according to BBC. Ffs that's gutting, especially as he had to miss the last camp now. Our CB who is playing at the highest level now

Can anyone list three promising young, as in under 21, centre backs that could come through and make centre back theirs?

Can anyone list three promising young, as in under 21, centre backs that could come through and make centre back theirs? Just look at the u21 squad. Ed Turns is probably the main prospect, followed by Joe Low, Luca Hoole, and Baker

Would personally go for Turns given he's left footed - provides something a bit different to the other options. Currently getting regular games in League One

Given how important home games will be this season, I somehow doubt we will be leaving him out at home to allow him to pull him out of Cymru games in order for him to play an away game.

Also important for all to remember that players miss the odd week here and there throughout the season and no one even raises an eyebrow, some of those odd weeks will fall on international week and this seems to be one of those examples

Had quite an eventful game today. Got a man sent off then in almost instant karma got utterly rinsed for Wolves' goal.

Just watched that again, piss poor from him. The shithousery to get the lad sent off I don't like but at that point of the incident I don't blame him, the error for the goal was really poor, you have to be strong and sensible in those situations and he was neither. Can't afford to make mistakes like that when you're up against it.

Don't blame him for the goal. Just left isolated on the turnover. I blame the pass and Nakamba not commiting a yellow card foul to stop the counter attack at source.

Slightly off topic, in 2018-'19 Cardiff City were relegated by two points and goal difference but didn't pick up a win until 20th of October (matchday 9).
Luton Town are currently one point off Cardiff's total (after matchday 6) so slightly surprising to see headlines already about needing to put wins and losses in context.
The league has moved on slightly and Luton are starting from further behind, but Rob Edwards correct to say that Luton should be allowed to learn in the division and to keep belief in what they're doing. That's good messaging. I just hope the fans stay with the team if/when the days come that they lose 5-0 because that can easily be part of the learning process too.

As for the next 3 games to be played by Tom & Co at Luton, at least they are steering clear of 'top end' opposition - it's Exeter in the EFL Cup, then Everton and Burnley in the Prem.

Definitely, there's a lot of managers that would struggle to keep that side and squad in the Championship, they're punching well above their weight and have been competitive.

They've barely invested and will gladly take the parachute payments.
